October 7, 201510 yr Iron Maiden I think, they have been around along time and have some good songs but cant ever remember hearing them on the radio and they are very popular in Europe. Im looking to o to one of their concerts and by the looks of their videos they are always sold out to huge crowds Maiden is the only one that makes sense. They've never had a pop hit.

October 7, 201510 yr Author Iron Maiden is correct. They just released their 16th studio album back in September, The Book of Souls, which debuted at #4 on the Billboard Album chart. The band members, all in their late 50's, continue to sellout arenas where ever the perform. Interesting note.....all the band members have shied away from the drugs and alcohol that reek havoc on many rock n rollers. Their biggest chart success on the Mainstream Rock chart was in 1983, Flight of Icarus reached #8.

As of 2013, they have played over 2000 live show, and yes, they sellout every venue they are at. Trust me, you won't see them playing at the Florence Freedom or the Sharonville Convention Center. :lol2:

Trust me, you won't see them playing at the Florence Freedom or the Sharonville Convention Center. :lol2: Was big into Maiden throughout the 80's and nearly tore up my vocal chords trying to sing like Bruce, and saw them on their "Powerslave Tour" with Twisted Sister, and their "Somewhere in Time Tour" with Megadeath who replaced last minute cancellation, and before they were big Guns and Roses. Never really liked Megadeath, so I was disappointed that G&R had cancelled. Both shows were at the Cincinnati Gardens. After a while I couldn't stand G&R either, but still would have dug seeing them before they blew up. Checked them out again in '95 at Annie's in Cincinnati when vocalist Blaze Bayley had replaced Bruce Dickinson for the 1st of two releases before Dickinson had returned. I took an Indian co-worker friend of mine who coincidentally had the last name Gandhi (He says in India it's as common as Smith is here) who had just recently moved to the states to attend engineering school, and Metal was still WAY big in India while grunge was all the rage here. Him seeing Iron Maiden in a relatively small venue was at the time like the most exciting night of his life. It was cool to see him all freaked out banging his shiny black Indian hair, and I held back not to deflate his excitement that for me I wasn't nearly into them like I once had been, and that it wasn't really much my thing anymore. On a side note, years ago I attended acting class and hung out with Itaal Shur in his music studio while he was in the local Cincinnati band Sleep Theater. Itaal moved to New York and co-wrote the Grammy winning and Number one Santana tune "Smooth" with Rob Thomas. He's also written songs for a number of other musicians including Jewel, Enrique Iglesias, and Maxwell, while also producing records for other various artists.
