Adair really hasn't played anyone. But play Etown week after this one, I believe, which will really tell us about them.

 

Union, is a good under the radar team, with a great new young coach and new atmosphere in Morganfield. They don't quite have the players to be in the Caldwell/Paducah group, but give them time.

 

I assume Hart Co would be in the 16 to 20 range? Correct?

If Garrard Co had even an average passing offense they would be a dynamic team. I admit I do not know much about class 3A besides GC, Belfry, Boyle, and Lex Cath. Do the other teams in 3a have the sheer size and strength across the board as GC? I mean it has been a long time since I have seen a roster with so many big boys. I get it, size is not everything, but man, these boys are scary big. The fact they have a pretty good team despite being one dimensional on offense makes me wonder if they can make a deep playoff run.

Bell and Russell would be a "yes"

 

 

The other Western teams have some things Garrard does not have:

Caldwell- Athletes and offensive firepower

Tilghman- Athletes and Speed

Etown- Homerun RB and good athletes

Adair- Not exceptional athleticism and speed across the board but a little more than Garrard

 

As for the East

Corbin- I think Garrard is bigger and stronger, but Corbin is just a more well rounded team.

Lawrence County- Have lots of size on the line but Garrard is probably stronger and deeper, the difference is they have excellent skill guys and playmakers.

1) Offense is NOT Garrard's issue... Passing, Running, it doesn't matter - the offense has handled everything thrown at it. The defense has been the problem.

 

2) Can't claim to know much about Caldwell, Tilghman, or E-Town, but I would bet my house Adair does not have more speed/athleticism than Garrard. Nor does Lawrence County. I think a lot of people, who have never seen Garrard play, make assumptions on their caliber of athletes by stats - the fact that they are a run-based team, but they definitely have athletes.

 

3) Garrard's major issue has been injuries and/or illness - as well as death's around the program. They have not been full strength this season. Not sure it will happen, but if they do get close - they have plenty of "firepower".

 

4) On the outside looking in, it just seems like this season has been a fight for GC all year. Inconsistency has been the rule.

100% Lawrence County does.

 

The Dalton brothers and Kiser at QB alone put them in a different stratosphere for athleticism. Just have to take my word there.

Those three, perhaps... I have my doubts about team speed, as a whole. Although, I admit I haven't seen Lawrence this year. Saw them last season, and wasn't impressed by their speed, then. Perhaps it has improved significantly since.

As can Brabson, Lasley, Melton and Grant for Adair.

 

 

 

I've seen all three a lot this year (Garrard, Lawrence and Adair), and there isn't much difference between any of them in the team speed category.
