T.R. Christopher to Corbin??

Featured Replies

Greer is a better all around athlete than Christopher. Bell county will not miss a beat. Greer would have been starting in front of him by the end of the season anyway. Bell County also has a very good incoming freshman back. I cannot recall his name but he was dynamite last season.

It appears after reading this thread and others like it since I joined, it always appears that kids carry some "baggage" Most times it appears to be sour grapes, it does not matter what school he is leaving or going to. If the kid leaves the classy thing to do is wish him well and tell him the door is open should things not work out. But over the years it has been my experience that is not what happens. Just go ahead and let the kid be happy, of course it is easy for me to say this since I don't have a dog in the fight.

You are right, and I alluded to that in an earlier post.

Is Christopher carrying some baggage that most of us are not aware of? He seems like a first class kid and will be an asset wherever he lands next season.

No I wouldnt say that at all. He may have had another reason to leave other than football, I have no idea. At the same time I heard the primary back spot wouldn't be handed to anyone but would have to be earned this year.

I think Bell will be fine without him. I reminds me of when Durrel White transfered. There is no doubt Durrel was an outstanding player and talent. But we still made it to the regional final, knocking off an undefeated laurence Co. team that year and were beaten by a very good Rockastle team. I truly believe we wouldn't have won that game with Durrel out there.

Christopher is very talented, but I don't think it will hurt Bell that much.

Well I am glad that Christopher found a place that he can play since he was not needed at Bell or he could have sit on the sidelines at Whitley behind their talented returning players. At least he has a chance to further his career and be happy. Best of luck, sounds to me like Coach Greer has caused alot of controversy at Bell Co in more than one sport.

From what i have heard Dudley Hilton has caused alot of problems with his football players by evidently "not allowing things to happen". Maybe he learned his lesson.
What's that mean, "not allowing things to happen"? Will Dudley allow this to happen?

I was not questioning his talant, I think that he is very talanted. I was alluding to the fact that I think the Greer kid is better. Corbin should be a good fit for him and He does not have to worry about family/football politics when he moves to Corbin.

I am not familiar with the whitley backs enough to say whether he would sit or play but I certianly think that he would be on the field. I personally would love to see him at Knox Central, I KNOW he would play there but then he would have to face the Bobcats in a district game. I know Coach Mills would love to have him.

What are you talking about learning lessons? Coach Hilton works hard it what he does, hes fair, and the majority of his players absolutely love him. Your post makes no sense.

Playing at Corbin he still will play against Bell, in what should be an emotional game for him and his former teammates. He is a great back, and he makes Corbin a lot better. Actually if I was a runningback their is only one school in the Corbin area I would go to.:sssh: Yes i'm being bias.:D

Lynn Camp might be a good choice but then he has to deal with the Roskoph kid, although Dave Mitchell did a great job last year spreading the ball around. I think that Knox Central would be a better choice....:ylsuper:

Mitchell does a great job at spreading the ball around every year. The years we are most successful we have two or three good backs. Sidney Wagner is name to watch for LC this year. LC has imo the top line in the area, and one of the best in Class A this year. LC was at or near the top last season in Class A in rushing last season. LC has all but one of them back.

Talked to a friend of mine tonight and verified that Christopher is indeed gone and has enrolled at Corbin High School.

Dudley Hilton did not cause any problems for T.R. Christopher as stated by TRUE REDHOUND In post #28.

Dudley gave him every opportunity (Heck even made him a starter his SO year)

Maybe he is being "influenced" by the same ppl that tried so hard last season to steal Buckeye Hunter away from Bell County (The Bell/Corbin ppl know who I'm talking about).:sssh:

Are we talking about the "R" word ?:sssh:

Does that really go on down there?

Cheers, Woody Jr

Mastermind, I was not knocking the Christopher kid. He is a good player. I do however, believe the Greer kid is a better all around back. You are also correct that he would not have started in the backfield at Whitley this season. Whitley is going to employ the Franklin Offense which utilizes one back and two split ends. Cody Jeffries has the back spot at Whitley tied down.

Are we talking about the "R" word ?

Does that really go on down there?

We ALL can only wonder?
