The 3 separate dates are so much better than having to play 2 games in 1 night. Just ask the members of the 2004 Thorobreds who lost a heartbreaker to the Generals 3-2 in 9 innings and then blew n 8-4 lead and lost 16-8 in the second game on Friday when they ran out of gas. If we had the 3 day format in 2004, Harrison County most likely would have gone to the State.

Maybe for you, you guys play in your back yard. BW has to travel an hour every night, unless they stay, but how far is the closest hotel?

In 2004 Beechwood played Puliaski SW, and they lost the 1st game and won the next two on the next day. So depending on who you ask I think you will have different reactions.

For the most part there was not much advantage to winning the first game when you had a second day DH. The KHSAA saw the light after so many teams lost the DH and made the format change.

Your right Hilltopper, duh Lewis did a great job. Got great control of his breaking ball after the first inning. By the way, Cynthiana isn't the end of the world. I am sure Beechwood will do just fine riding the bus. It's certainly closer than Lexington. Again, you 9th Region people think if you go outside of Boone, Kenton, or Campbell counties you've fallen off the end of the earth.:laugh:

Just wondering was the pitcher for BC the one you said wasn't much and Harrison would have no problem with him?

Actually Bretz started for Bourbon County and he was a RHP. He did great until his defense went south in the 5th. Hearn came in in relief and also did an adequate job thanks to some unfortunate baserunning by the Thorobreds.

Playing in your own park is a lot different from playing in the same county. You cant compare the two. I understand it is pre determained, but thats a big disadvantage. Its ok though, the Tigers beat them there earlier this year, so no biggy.

Beechwood barley beat Harrison.. So it could go either way. They also had Curley on the mound toward the end of the came and they pounded the ball agianst him. Harrison Co offense wont let them down. There hasnt been many times this year the pitching dominated Harrison Co. Harrison and Beechwood can both kill the ball!! If i were Beechwood i wouldnt throw Curley. If Curley throws i see Harrison (a fast ball hitting team) do just fine agianst him. Will Lewis throw for Harrison?? i heard he has had some arm trouble?? Harrison has no depth in pitching. Beechwood will take advantage of that
