Middle of the season assessment

Who is playing well? Which teams contend in their regions? What players are playing well?

Looks like NDA and ST Henry in the 9th

My picks for the 8th, 9th and 10th

8th Region:

South Oldham - have to be favorites given their performance last year and so far this year. They will need to step it up a notch if they want to be anywhere as successful as last years team.

SK - Surprise of the region but with the new coach he has them playing exceptionally well. What a turnaround for that program. Great athletes which makes them dangerous. I think they will be right in the mix at the end

Oldham - have not seen them play but building resume'

9th Region:

ND - very strong as usual so they are my favorite. Great ball movement and solid at all 11 positions

St Henry - Very good this year, not as deep as ND but will be a team that has a say

Highlands - Good youth and will be interesting to see if they continue to improve throughout the season. Would not want to play them in playoffs

NCC - Very solid and has some very nice players. Not as deep as ND but another one I wouldn't want to tangle with

10th Region:

I think a two horse region with Campbell Cnty and Brossart

Bourbon seems to be a dark horse but again I can't speak much about them as I have not see them play. Their schedule is a little suspect so we will see how they perform down the stretch.

The 8th is SK's to lose. The 'Neers are for real. St. Henry is going to give NDA everything they can handle for the 9th crown. In the 10th, it's Brossart and then everyone else. Campbell can't score a goal against decent teams.

Sure South and OC will have a lot to say about that. Also think NDA is too much for St. H and the 10th is wide open with maybe highlands as the fav

HHS is 9th region! I said it after watching NCC in the bluegrass, soccerrama and again last night at Boone. If anyone is gonna knock off NDA it'll be NCC. They were too much for boone in the 2nd half. Tied 1-1 at half boones lack of subs wore them down yet again. NCC is pretty solid all around! I could see them upsetting NDA in the regionals.

So I'm a little confused.

HHS is the 9th region, but NCC has the best chance of knocking off NDA? Aren't all 3 region 9?

That is correct. Back in the day, NCC and HHS were in a different region than NDA and if they met it would be in the sectionals, I believe it was called.

NCC, Highlands and NDA are all in the same region.

So AllAmerican......How can HHS BE the 9th region while NCC has the best chance of beating NCC? Seems like the first statement would mean HHS would have the best chance, otherwise NDA IS the 9th region......

Sorry.....am I dense or missing something? Just trying to understand.

Oh I don't think HHS is far behind NCC for being able to knock off NDA. I just thought HHS would win this game based on NCC not playing as tough a schedule up til that game. Both teams are quite capable of knocking off NDA this yr! Hope this is a little clearer than your post. I had to read it 10x to figure out where you were going with this ;)

The first statement was telling soccer fan HHS is in the 9th region not 10th.

Oh.....that makes sense now
