Montrell Dixson Enrolls at Pike County Central

Featured Replies

In my opinion which amounts to way less than a hill of beans, unfortunately this young man has been the victim of what sounds like too many moves, empty promises & broken dreams. Don't know too many colleges that will take him seriously @ this point either with the amount of "traveling" that he has done in his high school career. The AD in me wonders how this young man has survived educationally after so many moves, very sad.

Was told he was enrolled at Chapmanville and couldn't get eligible because WVSSAC has rules in place to prevent multiple transfers in state.

This is accurate.

Per two sources...

I have confirmed with two sources that 2016 wing Montrell Dixson has enrolled at Pike County Central HS... Montrell Dixson Enrolls at Pike County Central High School | AllKyHoops.com[/QU

Was'nt his brother in his traveling show last year ?

If you are referring to Dikembe Dixson then I believe they are first cousins. They played at Thomas Nelson then traveled together to Mingo Central last year. Dikembe also played at Ashland before going to Thomas Nelson but he graduated last year.

My son played a little AAU with him also. Seemed like a nice boy and very athletic. I hope he can find a good college where he can get an education and maybe find some stability.

Speaking of Dikembe, anyone know where he is playing or if he is playing?

He better find a good high school and get an education there first before he worries about getting into college..

I think Pike Central might be the early favorite to win their district and possibly even the region.

They lost A LOT off the team from last year but have 3 transfers now. I don't know if they are better than Lawrence Co.

Are you considering Tyler Burnett a transfer? Technically i suppose he is seeing that he left Pike Central to play one year at Boyd County then came back, but personally I don't think of him as a transfer.

As previously stated, the Dixson kid still has to get eligible academically and athletically and if he does they will compete with Lawrence County. Pike Central already had a really nice core group of players and were top 4 in the region prior to Dixson enrolling. Johnson Central only beat them by a few points this summer (granted it was summer ball and JC lost 4 starters - 5 total Seniors) so who knows.

It will be interesting to see if Pike Central can get Dixson eligible and if Shelby Valley can get Malcom Evans (sp.) eligible. If both do, it will make things much more fun to cover in the 15th Region as both of those players have college potential.

If everyone gets eligible, Pike Central will have the talent to win the region.

I was, but you are right he is not really a transfers, just coming back home.

Lawrence is till more talented IMHO, I'm not sold on them as a team completely though. They showed flashes last year and hopefully they can get to their potential.

Everyone will get eligible from SV to PCC, I'd actually be shocked if anyone got ruled ineligible.
