Is it Boyle County's to lose? Or, is Belfry the more deserving number one? Can Lexington Catholic play on the level needed? Where does Paducah Tilghman belong? Is Russell the "Dark Horse"? Who moves up after this week? Who will drop?

Belfry's schedule gets tougher moving forward beginning with NewCath this week

Paducah Tilghman is falling fast in my eyes. If Mayfield crushes McCracken County and Tilghman continues to show inconsistency I am not sure they deserve to be ahead of Caldwell, Etown, or Russell.

Yes.

No.

Yes.

Lower.

Maybe.

E-town should move up, Garrard should move if they beat Rockcastle. Paducah Tilman and Bell move down.

Boyle has played a more than solid schedule and passed every test. The question is will they play Robbins in Iron Man mode through0out season and playoffs. He brings value on both sides of ball but its a long season.

Belfry's schedule makes them hard to place so far.

LexCath will need to make some decisions on offense. The air-raid offense favored by Perry is as complex and probably even more complex than the Letton/Engler era. The previous two quarterbacks came up through the system and had time to learn it and run it. No matter how good a QB is - and Legend Braumbaugh is good - its like learning to fly a 747 as a pilot. No way will LexCath abandon a wide open offense but leveraging the running game with a top senior running back and a seasoned o-line may be the way to go for the short team. The defense lost three really good seniors last year and is still getting its feet. It will get better.

Tilman is at 1 - 2. Corbin and E-town are both 3 - 0. Garrard County is now 2 - 1 after barely lowing to Shelby County in opener. Bell has a strong Wayne County this weekend.

To answer your question about Robbins he's playing less on defense this year I think Smith may have read your posts last year LOL.

Not so fast on Central. I know #5 is hardly writing them off, but Coach Scroggins never gets his team to hit full stride until district time.

The loss to Knox may cause many to question, but the jackets usually have one of those head scratchers a year, but normally its to Western or some other mid level Louisville team.

Through week 3 Boyle is on top with Belfry close behind, but Lex Cath and Central will be right there in the end. 3 of the 4 have to beat each other to get to Belfry.

I just call them as I see them...even for the other side. Robbins is a special player. And he did have the break-up against Central Hardin on the two-point try, showing that defensive value.

I can see where having a fast smart QB playing safety is an asset against a pass heavy team like LexCath. But against the run teams - let someone else take the hits. Regardless of conditioning - and Robbins looks in top shape - freak things happen. Only way reduce the chances of those is to reduce the snaps.

I can't lie I want to see Boyle and Belfry in the Finals and anything short of that I will feel shorted. There are few programs and coaches I respect more than these two.

IMO it's a flat tie for #1 Belfry and Boyle not even 1A and 1B...they are both #1 for me.

Wouldn't they meet in semi-state and not the finals? I was thinking they are both on the eastern side of the bracket.

He's not playing defense nearly as much as he did last season.
