Please I would like to know also. Why do they have half on Monday and then the rest of the meet on Sat?

Not all 18 regionals do it that way, but a lot of them do.

I just found out that Newport's Curtis Marshall won the shot put event for Region 5 AA... he and a young man from Lewis County will be headed to Paul Dunbar...

In trying to schedule around graduations and commitments for school facilities, sometimes, you just don't have any choice.

Chris lacks of Raceland (Class "A", region 4) qualified for all four events that he competed in for the finals on Saturday. He has qualified in the finals for pole vault and high jump and with a good showing in Saturday's hurdle events (100 and 300) could represent region 4 and Raceland in all four events in the state meet. Congrats to Chris and good luck. His talents in football and track will be missed at Raceland next year. Chris graduated tonight (Tues.) and will attend Campbellsville University for Football this fall and possibly track next spring.

That would be Marty Dummitt, defending state AA champion in the high jump.

The 4 x 800m relay team from LCA surprised the region by taking second by running their best time of the year. They shaved almost 30 seconds off their best time. Kaelen Mitchell from LCA automatically qualified for the triple jump and high jump for state.

A ton of LCA Eagles also qualified for the regional finals at Harrodsburg on Saturday.

Congratulations to the other qualifiers from Region 4 as well. I believe that 6 young men qualified for the triple jump for state and more than two qualified for the high jump as well.

Just seen in the results that it was actually Brandon McDaniel from Lewis

I would like to make a correction on my post #6 on this thread. Chris lacks of Raceland has qualified for the 100 and 300 yard hurdles (class "A"- region 4 final) championships at Harrodsburg. Chris had already qualified for the State Meet in the pole vault and high jump competetion :jump: :jump: . Should he finish high enough to qualify for state competetion in these hurdle events then that would be 4 events that he would be competeing in at the State Track meet. Good luck to Chris.:thumb:

McDaniel finished seond in the shot. Dummitt finished first in the high jump. Both qualify for the state meet.

Congrats Chris! You are a great kid and everyone at Raceland is cheering you on!

No worries. I realized later on that you were probably talking about the shot competition.

Will you be there today?

In Region 3 AA the Western Hills men had a repeat of victory, scoring 129 points with Western High School finishing second with a score of 84. Western has a lot of spead and should give Tilman a run for their money in the sprints and short relays. For the girls Presentation won with 112 points and Henry Co finished second scoring 60 points.
