Rowan County Clerk sues the Governor of Kentucky

old grappler the clerk will have no input and it will no longer become a part of their job. The state will assume all responsibility, just like getting your birth certificate or a copy of it etc. It will no longer be in the job description of a County Clerk to issue marriage license's. Or at least that is my understanding of how it will work if passed. Here is another bad example. Just like you go online to get Obamacare.

And some things shouldn't be changed, like the definition if marriage. The court overreached its authority there and invented a new right that did not exist.

BTW, gay marriage is not akin to interracial marriage. It is akin to polygamy and the marriage of close family members.

What makes you feel this way?

I would assume that those that support Kim Davis's religious convictions about marriage would also support the religious convictions of polygamists about marriage.

Just watched this on the news. There were thousands at the rally for the clerks. The opposing side had a rally on the other side of the river in Frankfort at the same time. Might have been 100 there. Just sayin some of you live in a fantasy world when you think the majority are on your side.

Lol, yes, you're living in fantasy land. Maybe the other side realized that counties such as Rowan will be losing several thousands of dollars very soon, and realize that it's only a matter of time. Unlike those who support those clerks who are desperate. Since when does a really show what the majority of people want?

Maybe the other side had actual jobs to go to.

I'm waiting on you to tell me what makes YOU the ultimate authority on this issue. I have said I am not but you come across and take shots at everyone who don't agree with you. I just told you the numbers as they were reported which backs up what I said, not what you said. You said earlier that no way the numbers showed that YOU are in the minority and even showed a article which was basically a opinion, Old Grappler showed you some hard numbers which showed again what you said was not true. You have yet to respond to that as far as I can see, but takes a shot a old grappler and says he is one of them. You talk a lot but don't say anything to anyone who is listening very close and just attack anyone who does not agree with you.

Rally's are no indication of what people really think. And I and others stand by the facts that if there was a vote what would happen. Facts are as the older generation doesn't off, the more overwhelming the public will be in favor.

Funny that you talk about the ultimate authority, as YOU are the one who cannot take it when people with apposing views voice their opinion, and that has been pointed out by more than a few posters. Funny how you say others talk a lot, lol, that is sweet, lol.

And again, as I mentioned too, it's been pointed out how YOU always attack those who don't agree with you. And your entire post is an attack on me, just because I don't agree with you. But that is par for the course I guess.

And in the end, as I have stated, she is going to cost her county hundreds of thousands of dollars. I'm sure glad little old Rowan has that money to just throw away.

I'm going to end the night with this: Have a Blessed Sunday. God Bless.....

I am not using the rallies as hard evidence, I am using oldgrapplers numbers he quoted to you. My entire post was to call you out for your lack of evidence other than you said so. I am still waiting to hear your credentials to shut this or any case closed. Its evident you think she should do her job, that I agree with, not once have I ever said she should not. I have just been saying what I hear and see. You took a shot at me because I said I talk to Clerks all the time. I told you that you did not know what I did for a living. We are probably not going to agree on much so I am going to just agree to disagree before I get banned and tell you what I really think. Sorry if I offended you.

What makes you feel this way?

I do not "feel" this way. This is what I think. I'll put some thoughts together on it and reply when I have the opportunity.

He is one of those people ;)

This was your wise crack when I stated that so-called gay marriage is more akin to polygamy and marriage between close family members than it is interracial marriage. Insinuating, I suppose that I am either a polygamist or married to a near kin. See my comment below regarding your exchange with Jesse James.

... Facts are as the older generation [dies] off, the more overwhelming the public will be in favor.

(^ I don't disagree with that--words in blue were inserted by me as my comment]

This was stated in regard to posts by Jesse James.

Maybe it's because you make it personal rather than deal with the substance of the ongoing discussion.

You, in fact, do the same thing regarding who can and cannot marry. In your opinion, should anyone and everyone be able to marry whomever they want?

I am still waiting for you to answer my question ^. You accuse those who stand up for the traditional definition of marriage of telling others who they can and cannot marry and what is right and what is wrong. You, in fact, do the same thing. I'll demonstrate it. Answer my question.

Feel, think, however you want to word it. I was interested in your opinion.

Do you also support the religious views toward marriage of polygamists?

Absolutely not. I support the definition of marriage that stood unchallenged until very recently: the social institution under which a man and a woman establish their decision to live as husband and wife by legal commitments, religious ceremonies, etc. This is from Webster's Encyclopedic Unabridged Dictionary of the English Language, copyright 1989. This definition does not allow polygamy.

Those who have redefined the word marriage are actually the ones who are opening it up to include polygamous relationships. If it can mean nearly anything, it means nothing. That has been my consistent view as stated in various threads.
