Lawnboy13
Tonight the NewCath softball program had their annual Awards Banquet and Dinner. Big "tip of the cap" to Head Coach Denny Barnes for getting things together, including Pompilio's for dinner. :ylsuper: The awards portion of the evening started with Freshmen Head Coach, Dan Hausfeld, speaking about his 24-0 frosh team, and how if these young ladies continue to improve over the next few years how they will have one hell of a varsity career. Quite a few of these young ladies WILL be varsity starters next year. On the JV side of things, I was happy to present JV letters to 7 of the 8th graders who also played on the frosh team, these girls were all JV starters as well....Jenna Fryer, Katie Kelly, Kara Zimmerman, Kacy Zimmerman, Bailey Gray, Riley McDermott, & Mackenzie Jones.. Coach Barnes talked about the varsity season, especially how fortunate the program was to have 5 seniors who had such wonderful 4 year varsity careers (4 of which were 4 year varsity starters) and presented awards to Morgan Martini, Loren Zimmerman, Casey Kohls, Kristen Schreiber, Michaela Ware, & Haley Meyers. Also presented were ball cubes to: Alex Burkart - 1st career homerun (Grandslam) Lexi Potts - 1st career homerun (Grandslam) Morgan Martini - 1st career homerun (Grandslam) Kennedy Bin - 1st career homerun Haley Meyers - 1st career homerun Jaden Watts - 1st career varsity win Haley Meyers - 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, & 11th (3rd Perfect Game) No-Hitter 2015 Team Leaders At Bats - Michaela Ware - 97 Hits - Haley Meyers - 39 Runs - Michaela Ware - 35 RBI - Kristen Schreiber - 28 Doubles - Haley Meyers & Loren Zimmerman 11 Triples - Haley Meyers - 7 Homeruns - Kristen Schreiber - 6 Walks - Kristen Schreiber - 17 Stolen Bases - Michaela Ware - 19 OB% - Kristen Schreiber .456 SLG% - Haley Meyers - .778 AVG - Haley Meyers - .433 Seasonal Offensive Records Set Triples - Haley Meyers - 7 Homeruns – Kristen Schreiber - 6 Slugging % - Haley Meyers - .778 Stolen Bases – Michaela Ware - 19 Career Offensive Records Set Hits – Casey Kohls - 146 Doubles – Kristen Schreiber - 36 Triples – Haley Meyers, Casey Kohls, Kristen Schreiber – 9 Homeruns – Kristen Schreiber – 12 Runs Scrored – Casey Kohls – 123 RBI’s – Kristen Schreiber – 92 Walks – Kristen Schreiber – 61 At Bats – Casey Kohls – 394 Games Played – Kristen Schreiber – 128 Stolen Bases – Michaela Ware – 39 Seasonal Defensive Records Set Outfield Assist – Morgan Martini – 4 Career Defensive Records Set Assist – Casey Kohls – 171 Putouts – Kristen Schreiber - 701 Assist 2nd – Casey Kohls – 150 Putouts 2nd – Casey Kohls - 148 Assist 3rd – Loren Zimmerman – 164 Putouts 3rd – Loren Zimmerman - 99 Assist SS – Michaela Ware – 163 Putouts SS – Michaela Ware - 101 Assist Catcher – Kristen Schreiber – 81 Putouts Catcher – Kristen Schreiber - 697 Assist Outfield – Morgan Martini – 8 Kohls, Ware, & Zimmerman had a TON of chances, their gloves will be missed "bigtime"!!!! I would have to say that this may be the last awards night for the 2015 season:laugh: Also, looks like the off season training program paid off for the Lady Breds, that is a lot of HR's for the season. How many total did each player have and what was the team total? Very impressive!!!
AllenR
I would have to say that this may be the last awards night for the 2015 season:laugh: NOPE... How many total did each player have and what was the team total? Very impressive!!! This season the Breds hit 15 total, and yes, that is a lot for a NewCath team. 7 different players "touched em all", breaking the 2013 total of 11. Take 2015 & 2013 out of the mix, and since the fastpitch program started in 2007 all other years combined their have only been 13 hit.
