If you could share some names, that would be awesome. I just did a little scan of top 300 of each class till 2019 and I didn't see any QB's listed with T or St X by their names. Having their names will make it easier to do a search.

Just sayin!

I don't have an exact count but the numbers for the freshman team at Trinity are down this year from years past. This is just from observation from this year's picnic when they introduce the players. Makes you wonder if this is indicative of the overall enrollment for this year and is some fallout of the drug testing policy.

In regards to the QB position for varsity it's still a 2-man competition between Larry Harper (Jr) and Jake Woosley (Sr). I would expect a decision on the starter after next week's scrimmage against Henry Clay.

Wait! What? Are you saying that kids are not coming out for Trinity's frosh team because of a new drug testing program. Is that what you are saying?

FWIW - the numbers in the CSAA have been dropping the past several years. The # of teams they have lost has been significant - IMHO. That could have played a role.

Does anyone happen to know the percentage of Trinity's players that come from the CSAA?

Team picnic attendance was not mandatory. Also, the freshmen footballers met once prior to the picnic.

Don't forget X and T both dominate Lacross. CSAA numbers are most definitely down and that is translating to football numbers going down. Some kids do both but the majority are focusing full time on Lacross. I know a lot of our CSAA kids are going in that direction.

The way the CSAA merged so many schools and the different classes is totally different from the CSAA we all grew up watching or playing.

Trinity has about 75 kids out for freshman football. That's a manageable number. It's hard to keep 100+ kids (and parents) happy at that level when there is only 1 game a week and short quarters at that. At least with 100+ varsity you have JV games as well.

Just going off last year...I count 103 varsity players on the Varsity Team. At least 75 went to CSAA schools and another 10 -15 (at the very least) went to public grade schools but played in CSAA because they were full time members of a Catholic parish...and many more who have father's and grandfather's that went to Trinity. The percentage is close to 90% if you really dig down and look at the numbers.
