Highlands returns ten starters. Is it unreasonable to assume the people who will fill the gaps left by graduation were on the JV team last year?

My roster says 30 Sr, 34 Jr, 31 Soph on the team this year.

Last year it was 27 Srs, and I'm guessing about the same the years before. Somehow they figure things out by the time it really counts...

At a lot of schools I would say that a JV record may be indicative of results of the next year. However, Highlands usually does not put much emphasis on the JV squad. It is more about grooming the athletes to compete on the varsity level, and that doesn't necessarily coincide with a good JV record.

 

Another poster brought up a good point on the platoon system. I am sure that has a major affect as well.
