July 28, 201511 yr What are some of your favorite songs off of popular albums that WERE NOT, as successful as, other songs off of said album. Asia's self titled 1982 debut album, which was the #1 album in the United States for the year 1982, had two massive hits on the Billboard Hot 100....Heat Of The Moment #4 & Only Time Will Tell #1 7. However, it's a toss up for me for my favorite tune off of this album, it's either Sole Survivor or Here Comes The Feeling.
July 28, 201511 yr Fleetwood Mac's second self-titled album from 1975, the first album with the classic Buckingham/Nicks/Fleetwood/McVie/Perfect lineup, was a breakthrough hit in the US and worldwide for the band on the strength of memorable Top 20 pop charters such as "Rhiannon," "Say You Love Me" and "Over My Head." But the album is full of great tunes, and it could be argued by this rock'n'roll snob that "Monday Morning," the opening track, as well as "Landslide," are the two best.
July 28, 201511 yr The Rolling Stones' album Sticky Fingers was a #1 album in the US, UK, Germany, Spain, Norway, Sweden, Canada, Australia and the Netherlands. It had major hits in "Brown Sugar", "Can't You Hear Me Knocking", and "Wild Horses". The song "Moonlight Mile" wasn't unnoticed, but never charted. It may be my all-time favorite album closer.
July 28, 201511 yr Of course, everybody knows about "Rumours," only one of the biggest-selling records of all-time, spawning four Top-10 singles in "Go Your Own Way," "Dreams," (a #1 ), "Don't Stop," and "You Make Loving Fun." And while those are all great songs in their own right, frankly, we've heard them enough. But what really makes the album shine and, perhaps, my all-time favorite, is the incredible deep cuts. "Second-Hand News" — Just like "Monday Morning" on the prior album set a great tone, Lindsey Buckingham did it again with this amazing tune that opens the door — in a strangely fun way — to all the pain and drugs and wrecked relationships that would be laid out on the rest of the record. The album's best tune, I've always thought. Other standouts include: "The Chain" — an album-rock radio staple "I Don't Want To Know" — A side 2 classic sing-along in the finest Cali country-rock style you could imagine, and some of their best harmonizing "Gold Dust Woman" — Oh yeah, you know this one's great — some of Stevie's best work

"Dead Flowers" is the standout on that record. "(Female Dog)" is also great.
July 28, 201511 yr "Meeting Across The River"-Bruce Springsteen from "Born To Run" "Mona Lisas And Mad Hatters"-Elton John from "Honkey Chateau" "A Day In The Life"-The Beatles from "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" "Babe, I'm Gonna Leave You"-Led Zeppelin from "Led Zeppelin" "If It's Magic"-Stevie Wonder from "Songs In The Key Of Life"
July 28, 201511 yr Author Journey's 1981 Escape album, which had four Top 20 hits "Don't Stop Believin'" (#9), "Who's Crying Now" (#4), "Still They Ride" (#19) and "Open Arms" (#2), sold over 9 million copies...but my favorite off this classic is

"Second Hand News", "Monday Morning", and "Gold Dust Woman" are my favorite Fleetwood Mac songs.
July 28, 201511 yr Oh God...you started this thread to get my obsessive compulsive disorder kicking in full gear didn't you? I literally might be pondering for the rest of my life what I could post here on the topic. Nevertheless, I'll start by taking myself back to age 13 and how much I loved the song "Starrider" from Foreignor's debut release.

July 28, 201511 yr Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Second Helping" will always be known as the album that birthed "Sweet Home Alabama" on the world, and it also contained other classic cuts such as "Call Me The Breeze," "Workin' For MCA" and "Don't Ask Me No Questions," but the record's standout is clearly "The Ballad Of Curtis Loew."

July 28, 201511 yr I don't believe that Judas Priest's second release "Sads Wings of Destiny" charted any singles, but it's known probably by even the most of casual JP fans as the album that spawned "The Ripper" The whole album is pretty interesting as it hinted to the direction that band would take while it also showed melodic artistic territory from them that we never saw again. It's a gem of a masterpiece in its uniqueness, and was a giant leap from their debut album Rocka Rolla which although interesting in places, was a schizophrenic attempt at finding themselves. Two other standout tunes for me from this release would be... 1. Victim of Changes 2. Tyrant
July 28, 201511 yr While the title cut from AC/DC's Highway to Hell, and Touch too Much caught most of the attention from that release and deservedly so, the song "Walk All Over You" never failed to rock my socks off and turned out to be my favorite song on the whole album.
July 28, 201511 yr Neil Young's "After the Gold Rush" is a gem one song after another with little reason to specify any particular tunes. It's just bliss and emotion all the way through displaying song writing excellence and brilliance. The closer "Cripple Creek Ferry" is arguably a bit out of place as I never felt it quite belonged with this batch of tunes, but other than that, pure song writing genius.
