July 26, 201511 yr According to Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, a number of Steelers said they hoped Brady prevailed in his appeal so he’d be on the field against them in the Sept. 10 opener. “We might have a better chance, but when you look at playing these teams and seeing them in the playoffs you want your guys to be ready to go into that situation. So if guys can prepare against playing against the best early, it’s going to help us later down the road.” That’s a mature and noble position to take, and also kind of a crock. You know what players like better than principled triumph? Triumph. And with the margin in the NFL so small, the idea that the Steelers would give away a better chance at a win if they had a choice is the kind of thing you say in public so people hear you say it. July 26, 201511 yr Author And as a Bengals fan that is exactly what I want too because it is good for the Bengals and bad for the Steelers.
July 26, 201511 yr "Yeah, I hope he's out because we're scared to death of that guy and we don't want to get beat." Better?
July 26, 201511 yr Author "Yeah, I hope he's out because we're scared to death of that guy and we don't want to get beat." Better? No, they are either not being truthful or they are stupid.
July 26, 201511 yr No, they are either not being truthful or they are stupid. It's all about ego. What did you expect?
July 26, 201511 yr Author It's all about ego. What did you expect? Expect, not sure, hope, a Steeler loss...
July 26, 201511 yr Sounds nice on paper but I don't believe it. Kick 'em while they're down. No quarter.
July 26, 201511 yr So if they say, "We're glad we won't have to face him." Guru starts a thread saying they're scared of Brady and the Pats. They say this and he calls them stupid. That about cover it?
July 26, 201511 yr Author So if they say, "We're glad we won't have to face him." Guru starts a thread saying they're scared of Brady and the Pats. They say this and he calls them stupid. That about cover it? Nope, then Guru starts a thread and says the honesty is refreshing. Come on UK, catch up.
July 27, 201511 yr Frankly, I hope he doesn't play, because I have a long-standing beer bet with a buddy here in Bardstown who is a Pats fan over H2H matchups as well as who makes it further in the playoffs. I've bought him a whole bunch of buckets in recent years, and it's getting old.
July 27, 201511 yr If Brady plays its a sure loss for the Steelers, especially with Bell out. Whether Brady plays could mean the difference between the Steelers making the playoffs or staying home. FWIW, I think it's almost a guarantee Brady plays... If the NFL doesN't reverse the suspension he'll take it to federal court and get it overturned there.
