My source tells me Newport hires Tim Viox as new head football coach, from Fairfield, Ohio.

Anyone got any info on him?

Congrats! Good luck !

Are you sure it is Tim Viox? This conflicts with what was reported on here the other day. Someone posted Tom Viox was the new coach. Tom was the former Head Varsity Coach at Fairfield. Tim was the former Frosh. coach at Fairfield.

Are we sure Newport knows which one they hired? It is Newport here.

Is this the man who is going to put in the triple option? If so, I'll be interested to see how Newport does with it. I really like the offense.

Could you imagine? Lol

You could be showing your age, lol! When we played the triple option, we used leather helmets.

Could you imagine? Lol

The problem is I can imagine it.

Which ever man got the job, I wish him good luck. Places like Newport desperately need strong role models to step up everywhere including the football field. A lot of these kids need football in their lives in order to recognize their worth and potential. I wish the program nothing but success.

I'm assuming it's Tim Viox that was hired. I've never heard of Tom Viox.

Anyway, if it is Tim Viox, this is a very good hire by Newport at this late juncture. I will also say, it's a job I'm surprised Tim Viox pursued. So maybe it is Tom Viox.

Tim Viox has been around for awhile, taking over as the Maderia head coach in like 97ish. He turned that program around, which led to him bouncing around from job to job a bit at bigger schools. I'm pretty sure his last head coaching job was at Fairfield, he may have been at Sycamore as well.

I do know he got his head coaching start at Maderia, and coached at Fairfield. I'm not positive about Sycamore though.

I'll have more info or add more to the story when I have more time.
