Verbal offers are not scholarships until the NLI is signed.

That's not the topic.

That's not the topic.

The topic is about the offer. It is a verbal offer, but not a scholarship until he signs the NLI.

Congratulations to the young man for the verbal offer. Good luck on signing day, too.

You will need to continue to develop over the next 2 years to prove to Toledo, and possibly other schools should you rescind the verbal offer, that you can play at the D1 level.

How is it bashing the player when it represents his total statistics from the 2014-2015 season?

The point you are failing to realize is the thread was started stating that the young man was offered, which apparently you are the only poster that has a problem with it because he didn't set the world on fire with blistering stats as a FRESHMAN. Toledo obviously sees something to "verbally" offer the young fella and since they obviously are a D1 program they might just have a little clue as to what they are doing. As for you bringing up the point about "did he sign a NLI?", that issue NEVER should have been brought up IF you know how recruiting works and given the fact that the earliest he could sign would be late 2017 in the early signing period for basketball if I'm not mistaken. So the obvious answer is no.

One thing you are correct on is that you have every right bring up his low statistics and for that you can continue to stand on the lonely iceberg of Haterville. Most posters, including myself, will remain positive and support the young man and wish him well.

Not hating the player - check out my posts where I congratulated him on his verbal offer.

It is not a scholarship until the NLI is signed in 2017/2018.

Good luck to the young man.

Jeez Louise!! I'll say it again, high school stats, for a freshman who just moved to a team that played sr's Since they were sophs means nothing . It's totally irrelevant. These coaches look at how kids play against kids there own age. Tc has been outplaying nationally known kids this summer. Several Mid major's have shown big time interest. To say a 15 year old child isn't getting scholarship offers because he hadn't signed an loi just shows ur lack of intelligence about the game. But I guess u no more than the staffs at Air Force, Toledo , Marshall ect. Jump into the current decade , Denny crum is long gone.
