How many on the BlueBirds roster (EVERY YEAR) put in 4 years of extremely hard work so that they MIGHT get to see playing time on SENIOR NIGHT? That's assuming the opponent is a pushover. Probably the same at some other schools with large rosters.

 

Some might prefer to go to a school we've never heard of because they will get on the field right away.

Others will quit their job at the steel mill, sleep in a closet, and get the crap kicked out of them repeatedly, just for the slim chance of wearing a ND jersey!

Very True! It's all about what the kid wants. If my kids goal is to be a glorified tackling dummy just to wear a certain jersey, I'm gonna have to rethink my parenting. LOL..I'm just kidding! I really know what you mean about being a part of your dream team rather than playing time for any team.:thumb:

Central Michigan is a perfect fit for Hergott. I am a big believer on going to MAC schools where you can actually get playing instead of sitting the bench at a SEC school.

I LOVED reading that article as a HHS fan. He admitted he was not ready when he went into games last year. I thought the same thing. It looks like he has totally committed himself to football this summer. I remember Coach Shields (even though he was talking basketball, it applies here I think) saying "great TEAMS are made during the season; great PLAYERS are made during the summer". It looks like Austin is doing all he can this summer...
