Which 2015 teams do you see as having a "rebuilding" year?

Featured Replies

CCH may have the biggest group of seniors ever, depending on what happens in tryouts.

I wouLd have to believe Scott may be looking to rebuild after what they lost. Several quality players are left, but didn't see too many replacements to fill the holes with those that are left......

Who else? Is your team strong, rebuilding, or "c'mon 2016" ?

I would think Boone is in a rebuilding year given they have a new coach at every level--freshman, JV, and Varsity. Lost some good players and will have a lot of guys stepping up who did not start last year or were on JV. I don't mean this as negatively as it may sound. I am actually looking forward to see what the new coach does with the talent he has and how the boys step into new roles.

I am thinking Newcath will be trying to reinvent themselves. New coach, loss of keeper and quite a few seniors including a key defensive player, their leading scorer and a player who was the enforcer in the middle. Quite a few holes to fill in their lineup.

Ncc should be a top 3 team in nky

They were very deep last year and return one of the best underclassmen in Nky in Logan Muck. As a team I do not believe it will be a rebuilding year, it's all in how the coach uses the players he has.

Hard to say NCC won't be doing a bit of rebuilding. They lose Paul Grosser in goal (3-year starter); Jacob Hensley in defense (All-State 1st team); Seth Freppon in midfield (a beast athletically with a Rory Delap-like throw-in); and striker Pat Louis (2nd team All-state). I think Hensley and Louis are headed to Thomas More to play. That's a very strong spine of a team that probably should have done better than 12-8-3 last fall. NCC does have some nice underclassmen (Logan Muck, Eddie Schultz, Justin Randle and possibly another Grosser in goal, to name a few). If NCC finishes this fall with a better record than last fall, it'll be hard to say Coach Martin didn't do more with less, but ultimately it's up to the boys.

I looked over the 2 schedules and it looked like last year's schedule was a bit harder than the schedule for this year.

I found the schedule from last year and it looked like Ncc went through a spell where they couldn't score and things turned around toward the end of the season. Not sure what they have coming back but looks like they had pretty many younger guys on the roster and Grosser not listed as a keeper.

I'm not sure they will be top 3, I think top 5 will be doing well. I believe that they have plenty of quality players coming back but losing the amount of quality and experience (both players and coach) that they did will take a while to overcome. I can see them having some growing pains but pulling it all together by districts. I still think they will keep their streak of making the Regional Tourney in tact. :sarcastic:

For NCC in 2015 Riherds Scoreboard only shows 10 games scheduled so far with 7 of those 10 against teams they played last year. The three adds are Pendleton County, Campbell County and Scott County... so agreed not as difficult as many of their 2014 opponents (though I bet Campbell County will be reasonably good this fall, even with losing the talented Michael Dumaine to graduation).

I agree with your statement about what they have lost, from the chatter I heard at club games, they have what it takes to win.

Any news on if Mike will be coaching anywhere, last rumor I heard was highlands but I'm not sure what to believe......

Now that's funny ^^^

I am not sure that chatter is anything more than just that.... time will tell. I am very curious to see who steps up to lead this team.

No news on Mike either.
