Good list... Glasgow I gave a passing glance to but I am sure I probably should have taken a deeper look.

 

42 playoff wins, 28 district championships, 4 times a state runner-up. Only Somerset, Boone County, and Owensboro Catholic have won more playoff games without winning it all than Glasgow, and no one has won as many district titles without a state championship.

Great list but I think Somerset is hands down the top brides maid.

 

I think so too, although my list was simply a math formula. The numbers for Glasgow, Somerset, Boone, and Owensboro Catholic are almost identical.

Definitely should have been on the list if I were to re-do it... would probably put them at #3 , move Boone to #4 , and bump Pburg back to #5

Exactly. I was in high school in the late 1990s and I remember Somerset not being very good. Around that time is when I got into researching high school football history. I started to realize that those few years in the late-90s were basically the only time in their history that Somerset wasn't good.

I know the school no longer exists but just curious if Harrodsburg ever won a title? Seems like they got there 3 or 4 times but the title always eluded them. Can anyone verify if they won a title?

I know there has been a lot of talent come through there, especially in the AJ era.

Never won. Lost three times in the championship - Pikeville in 1988, Beechwood in 1996 & 1997.
