Good luck to all of young men and young women getting the opportunity to compete nationally at the highest level!! What a thrill for those kids (and their families).

A shame that we'll have 15 page threads over who the best H.S. team in a particular region is at hoops, but a thread highlighting KY kids playing in huge National Events in soccer will have about 14 posts. Oh well.

Go get 'em!!

What happened to Jon Pickup and the U18 girls and thought Tim Gessner was the coach of the U-16 team going to Missouri? Is Lie not the coach at UC?

Posted

The U18 Girls team is the one that Jon Pickup coached.

I believe that Gessner's squad won the KY President's Cup but the team coached by Lorenz is making the trip to MO.

Yes, I believe that Lie is a coach at UC.

Okay, so is Pickup gone from Kings? How can another team go in place of another to a regional tourney?

I believe he has gone to another Club.

If for some reason, a team chooses not to accept a bid, I believe it falls to the next team.

What club did Pickup go to and if you take someone else's bid are you able to add players as well?

I am not going to get into the specifics, I am not privy to all of the details of his move so I do not think it is appropriate to comment on where he went, or why.

If a bid falls to another team, they are subject to the same roster changes/additions that any other team would be.

You cannot say where he went? Is that top secret information in the soccer world? Could care less the reason/s why he left or was removed, just curious where he ended up. Had always heard he was heading to Florida after riding the coattails of this group until they were ready to play in college.

JoaT- You should realize that there is a difference between "cannot say" and choosing not to because someone does not feel that it is their place to do so.... sorry I did not make that clear enough in my last post.

If you are as curious as you seem, I suggest you do some digging because it is not top secret info.
