Run To State Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Anyone have any experience with them for auto and home insurance? Been thinking about switching to a different company. Their premium almost sounds too good to be true. I figure there is no place better than BGP for info/advice.
OlDog75 Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 I had auto insurance with them quite a few years ago. Had to drop them because the rates kept increasing even though I had no claims, tickets or violations of any kind.
Run To State Posted June 4, 2015 Author Posted June 4, 2015 Increasing with no claims? That's not good.

Run To State Posted June 4, 2015 Author Posted June 4, 2015 Like I posted, it was a few years ago.Curious as to how they are now. As I originally posted, their quote was darn near too good to be true, I don't know what to do at this point.

What we need is someone who is currently insured or just recently dropped them. I'm curious as well how the premiums are. I have my house and cars with MetLife and I'm not too thrilled lately with the company.
Run To State Posted June 5, 2015 Author Posted June 5, 2015 Anybody else have any experience with The Hartford?
Hangman Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 I don't deal with them for my own insurance, but interact with them (and pretty much every other insurance company you can name) a lot due to my job. I have nothing negative to say about my dealings with the company.
Watusi Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 Anybody else have any experience with The Hartford?Getting the AARP discount?
Watusi Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 My parents have had the AARP insurance through The Hartford for years and they are satisfied. The only claim they had was a homeowners claim where a tree fell and hit their house and the company acted quickly and paid promptly from what they told me. I can ask them more if you want RTS.
lawildcat Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 We have USAA for insurance and are very happy with them.
Run To State Posted June 5, 2015 Author Posted June 5, 2015 Getting the AARP discount? :lol2: You do have to join AARP for the insurance. I figure I can counter that with an NRA subscription. I can ask them more if you want RTS.That would be great, if you don't mind.

Watusi Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 I asked my mother and she said they were still happy and they don't have any complaints. There have been increases, as with any homeowners policy, to keep up with replacement costs, etc. But she said the company always contacts them to talk about it before making any changes, allowing them to choose coverages, etc. She said it has been a very positive relationship with The Hartford.
