No offense to any NHS members but.... I equate NHS to the Who's Who Among College Graduates that you get hit up with late in college. I recall that people actually thought that was a big deal also....

I was selected to be in "Who's Who In American High School Football". Fell for the whole bit, paid the $30 or so. Got the book, and found the entry from our backup offensive tackle...I then knew I had thrown $30 out the window. I found the book when I moved out here in 1998 when unpacking stuff. I went through every (well almost every) single name and only found one name I recognized....Gino Torreta. On the plus side, I did have as good of an NFL career as he did.

I was too, 30+ years ago. :lol2: At my school, it was an honor (no pun intended) to be inducted. I'm still proud of my inclusion. Did it help me? Maybe not in the way people here would value. But I gained a lot that did me well over the years.

I was in "Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities". Didn't cost a thing.

 

But then again, I wasn't prancing around in a strapless sundress, either.

NHS, when I was a part of it, was much more. We did service projects, had requirements to remain, including GPA and progressive demonstration of leadership. Maybe it's changed. But it wasn't at all like the Who's Who, which I've gotten many letters from and never bought from....but I did go to the library and photocopy the page with my name.

Question I have is...why not just follow the rules? Being in the NHS, I figure she can probably read and comprehend pretty well, which meant she knew the dress she was wearing didn't meet dress codes. She wears something that is considered appropriate, and she never gets in this mess.

 

With all that said, the "punishment" seems to be a bit over the top.
