Ninth Region predictions

Featured Replies

With the field now set, just match ups tbd, who has the best shot? What 2 seed can make a run?

One Seeds

Conner

Highlands

Notre Dame

St Henry

Two Seeds

Beechwood

Dixie

Newport Central Catholic

Ryle

Two

I would assume that the 2 seeds would rank as follows:

Ryle

NCC

St. Henry

Dixie

Just trying to base this off of what I have read throughout the year on BGP and in the newspaper.

Okay is this better.

NCC

Ryle

Dixie

St. Henry

St. Henry and Dixie are in the same district.

The draw is Saturday and it will be easier to make solid prediction when the teams are matched up after the draw. But I already have my pick :sssh:

St. Henry and Dixie are in the same district.

Yeah. I was thinking about the old days when St. Henry was in the 33rd. Meant to put Beechwood at the bottom.

I've got to think NCC is the toughest two seed out. They have played all the ones pretty close I think... As much of a homer as I am, the region runs thru the Pandas. Not predicting they will win it but their ace is on a mission. Just wish it was a mission to South Africa that starts Monday...

Which team is the last 9th region winner that didn't have a dominant/stud pitcher?

Taking nothing away from Bailey Spencer, Highlands last year. That team played as a team and did not give up. Most teams would have closed up shop and called it a day.

In no particular order

1. Notre Dame Highlands Conner

4. Dixie St. Henry NewCath

7. Ryle

Haven't seen Ryle so I can't comment on that part but I would say you have the general consensus. Anyone of the first two groups can and/or have beat each other.

That is a game that will be remembered forever...

The Unbelievables! I think you could write a movie script about that game and last season (everything from a couple horrific games early to the end of the season with Spencer having emergency surgery then Mason pitching the way she did to beat NCC in District Championship then Spencer coming back so soon in Regionals) beating Boone in the semis to "The Game" the way it went down and Holywood would tell you that's to unbelievable! Rewrite it and make the finale a little more believable. Which is where we add some footage of the show that some of us put on at the moonlight buffet! What a movie it would be!

Just a hunch but before the draw I'm guessing HHS v. ND in semi(same side even though IMO they are two best teams) and Conner v. NCC in other. Winner of HHS/ND is regional champ beating Conner in final.

.... Good luck in draw

& should be a great tourney!
