Colonels_Wear_Blue Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 Brian Dorshefski, a former assistant at leaving Carroll County, will be the new head coach of the Eminence Warriors football team. Word out of Eminence is that Coach Dorshefski's staff will be comprised of a few assistants coming with Coach from the Carroll County program, and a few will be staying on from the previous Eminence coaching staff. Good luck to Coach Dorshefski!
plantmanky Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 Good for the former Carroll Co coaches, the more I have heard about that situation, they got the shaft and deserve to be coaching somewhere.
TCHSRaider Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 Carroll Coaches???? That program was doing decent, they should have made the jump during the 2012 season with that dominant team. Eminence could use a staff with SOME expierence about success. In my own personal opinion they lost the game against the Raiders this past fall, a game should never be decided by the officials espically when you see the runners knee was down. Again my own opinion.
LAZYSIX Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 I think that staff at Carroll had been together for a long while. TCHSRaider, not understanding what you are getting at. Anyway, I think that is a very solid hire for Eminence.
Tha Moss Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 Great to see Coach Shef find a positive atmosphere after spending years in a toxic environment. He will do great things there.
1&ONLY44 Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 Congratulations Coach Shef!! Great hire for the Warriors!

TCHSRaider Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 What "jump" in 2012 should they have made? Just curious... The 2012 season was the year they should have made the run, because they were loaded withn talent and a really strong team. Owens was 2011, Gallatin 2013, and WV's was this past fall. Each year one of the programs had a special senior class that had been groomed for that year. Honestly I thought WV was the only team that could match NCC last year, and was shocked when Newport beat them.

Honestly I thought WV was the only team that could match NCC last year, and was shocked when Newport beat them. I think that 2012 was probably so far the best WV team ever. 2013 was very good as well but did not match up as well against Newport. The 2012 WV team had great 0- line plus a more balanced attack offensively. Defensively they were solid across the board. Newport Catholic just had more that year with line and offensively especially in the offensive backfield. WV handled Carroll County easily that year 27-7. But I digress. Congrats to Coach and good luck!
TCHSRaider Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 I totally forgot about the 2012 WV team, the OLine was very dominant that year and they had a very stout defense. Anyway Congrats to Coach Shef. Need to start a thread about 2A District 5.
Tha Moss Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 Very pathetic that this thread has come to this. In 2012, Coach Shef coached the District Player of the Year in Tyshaun Embs, where he broke the school record for rushing yards and finished 2nd in the state in rushing. But to say they were the dominant team (athletically) in the district is almost laughable. Yes Walton Verona easily handled Carroll that year because they should've. I believe that Mosier was a senior that year who went on to play at the UK, also that year both Lattimore's came into their own, David Carr was also a stand out player, followed by many other good players as well. Owen also had an extraordinary amount of talent that year as well with Chris Day, Trammel, Paul Banks, & Schmitz just to name a few. Yes Carroll did have a very good running game that Coach Shef was a huge factor in with Tyshaun Embs, but to say they were the dominant team reflects what you actually know. And to talk about "runs" within that district is also a laugh because there isn't enough talent besides Walton to make runs in that district year in and year out. I encourage you to look at the "athletes" in the schools of Class 2 District 5 and compare them to the athletes in the schools of NCC, Holy Cross, Lloyd, & Newport. Then tell me who should be making runs and dominating? Besides who cares about the past. Coach Shef is an outstanding coach with an outstanding FUTURE.
