Freshman Basketball NKY

There were about 19 frosh in the program last year. 17 played frosh.

I'd imagine there will be a max of 10 players on the JV next year. Figure a frosh or two might take a spot. So maybe 8 spots for last year's frosh from the frosh team?

@Mustang is excited about the possibilities.

Ruthsatz and Mayer will both start varsity next year!

I'd hold off on that declaration.

If CCH wants to "go big" then Mayer would be out.

With that I'd expect Mayer to be the leader or near the top of the varsity rebounders for CCH next year. Machine.

Yikes..... that's leaving quite a few of them 17 out. Every coach would love to have that problem. BBN mentioned some maybe going straight to varsity, which ones? I can't wait to see what the new group coming in has to show. Hear a lot of good things about them. Haven't seen any of them play yet....

I would say CVH and Andy Flood are the only "guaranteed" starters for next year. I think Ruthsatz will probably take over the point responsibilities. Beyond that I would think its wide open. Coach Ruthsatz will play the best players, and he has a lot of players to choose from.

Highlands should have a good team. Their middle school team was pretty good.

I expect more shots to go around next yr for the Birds. Very skilled kids who need to step up tenacity and could use a growth spurt or two. Lack a True Big. Several kids can play though.

Lacking a true big man has always been a problem at Highlands. What kind of size do they have?

Some kids are getting longer but they are the 2's and 3's.

I'm hearing Cov Holy Cross will see a few new faces next yr at the Frosh level. A few kids from the other side of the Licking River have shadowed there recently.

Is this the kid from Holmes? Heard they have a couple really good players who will be frosh next year that likely see minutes at the JV level.
