Freshman Football in NKY

Featured Replies

Who is going to have some of the better teams in NKY in Freshman Football? Who will be some of the better players?

SK will have the best team, the best players, the best coaches, the best water boys, the best concessions, the best chain crew.

On a serious note, I would be interested to hear some things as well.

I do know SK will have a Freshman that is over 6'2 190 pounds it will be his first year playing but I am sure he will do good. I know his uncle big Mike Webster was a good one.

With freshman it's hard to tell. I think back at kids my son played with freshman year. some kids were great at the Fresh level and couldn't get on the feild in varsity. Also kids who didn't start in freshman ball started varsity down the line... Some kids mature early then everyone else grows. Seen it in basketball a bunch.

Exciting time for the boys.

Yes. Freshman football is a great thing. Loved it!!

@webster

He will match up well against the Frosh to be kid from Camp Co who's 6'-4" 350lbs....I had to coach against him last year. And it wasn't that he was that dominant, he was just a load to move. Should be interesting to see how he developes....

I am SK will have a bunch of big kids like last year but I hope not that big.

I can't speak for the NKYFL team, but neither of SK's middle school feeders had very much size or speed. Still having two middle schools (and an NKYFL feeder) is a big advantage for SK as will have very good numbers and automatic depth. Really, all of the Kenton County middle schools took a bit of a step back from the previous year. Campbell County, Tichenor and Walton were the 3 best middle school teams in the NKMSAA league last year.

That just can't be. All the big kids only play at SK. You must be wrong.
