We haven't heard from MCNM. He normally knows a lot about the football program.

Sorry for the delay in posting as I have been on a three month hiatus from BGP (and away from the GRC programs as well).

 

Three things I see as key for the Cardinals for 2015 as once again the have a challenging schedule ( to include Anderson County, Henry Clay, defending 6A State Champs Scott County and a tough disctict schedule.

 

1 - Replacing Sharrock at QB. In 2014 Sharrock ran the majority of the offense and was second on the team in yards rushing and first in passing. He played all game except one for concussion. Not sure who they have taking first team snaps as of this writing but will update as soon as I get the picture.

2 - Secondary. This has been a constant issue for the Cards as they still think the key to defending 6'3" receivers with a 5'9" safety will work. This has burnt them on so many occasions that I don't think I could count it up.

3 - Defense conditioning for 4 quarters. This was a major issue in several games as the defense was in the games most of the first three quarters and they did not have the legs to defend in the 4th. I suspect the coaching staff will have worked in this one first rater than the #2 mentioned above this.

 

On a side note, I expect to see a couple of strong backs for GRC as they always seem to have good rushing talent. And if they can't get a QB online as quickly as they want, they will rely even more on the running game than usual (which is a lot).

 

Going out on a limb based upon last years results and losses due to graduation. I see 5-5, possible 6-4. There is a lot of "X" factors that hopefully come to light before the season starts.

Less than 3 weeks before our home opener against Anderson County and the field had rolled grass turf applied for about 50 yards between the hashes.

 

I hope it takes root with 20 days to go before kickoff.

I am not as connected with the football program as I am the b-ball. But Jamie Keen the AD should be able to tell you.

It would be better if the football program posted the scrimmage schedule on http://www.grcathletics.com.
