Not only did this kid go to Duke but listening to his pre-draft talk made me root for him super hard core. First thing he did was try and give his mom his suit jacket because it was cold but he said he plans on trying to be a doctor after the NFL. Has his head on straight and very easy kid to root for.
May 1, 201511 yr That is why they have the lowest sack totals in the NFL. They don't believe in helping their CB! If you are referring to Cleveland you have a point. I would have preferred they pick an edge rusher like Dupree with #19 . However, I think the Browns know better what they need than I. But I don't think it's correct to say the Browns haven't tried to get their CBs any help. They got OLB Kruger from Baltimore in FA a couple years ago and took Mingo as a high draft pick. Both those guys were supposed to be edge rushers. Mingo has yet to pan out. He spent more time covering receivers across the middle last year than rushing. Kruger had his best season as a rusher last year. Sheard was also supposed to be able to rush the passer. He left in FA, but he was picked by Shurmur and didn't really fit Pettine's scheme. So i think they have tried to improve the pass rush but it hasn't quite come together yet. Though Shelton is primarily a run stopper, he is a load and will require a double team. This will free up others to rush the QB.
