Tenth games just come up real easy in July don't they? To me it's a lose lose, big monetary loss for home team, and exciting atmosphere for both team and kids, and a in own game for bragging rights that is what the game is about.

 

No game scheduled for FC at this point. Big loss at the gate and the kids in Frankfort like to play each other! FC had a nine game regular season last year and I know they would like to play ten games if possible this year. There is still time find a game but nothing said at this point.

 

I guess I was thinking more about it from a competitive/usefulness standpoint, rather than from the standpoint of the kids. Actually didn't realize it was THAT big of a deal for the two schools, to be honest, especially for WH as they seem to be on the losing end of the stick a whole lot. If the kids enjoy it that much, then yes it's a shame a mix up happened and they won't get to play this year. With that said, sometimes you can make lemonade from lemons...so the opportunity could be there for each team to pick up another opponent and maybe branch out and find some "new blood" so to speak. Hopefully they can each find that 10th game and fill the void.

Seems like teams on the losing ends of series such as this, down play the importance of the game, not sure if they are making excuses or try to save face. I lost to Hills when I played at FCHS. To me even if lopsided the rivalry brings out the best in each team, if your the underdog you get tougher due to the pride involved, if your the front runner you learn to play with class and execute to show off. Then add in the monetary aspect to the district who hosts each year with one of the best gate. Seems like we as adults forget that these kids all grew up together and want a shot at this game each year. This stuff is supposed to be fun. I hope it works out.

It's no big deal. I think maybe both teams can benefit by not playing this game. Hills is extremely young group and can use the vacant spot on the schedule to play team in or below their class that could help them prepare.

 

I think FCHS could use the vacant spot to strength their schedule to assist in making a playoff run.

Talked with coaches from both schools ,Western hills does have a signed contract by the ad of Franklin Cty. Looks like they are going to try and move the game to another date if they can get help from other teams.

I've looked at both schedules and other teams schedules. It's going to take a lot of work to make it happen. Big puzzle!
