Heard Marvin today talking up the depth in LB and WR in this draft.

They again are in the best player available mode. I think they will take any position but QB RB and WR

RB is the only position I wouldn't look for. But QB would be my top priority, not saying 1st round but they need to get one that can come in and compste. If that's Ucla's then so be it.

I think they may draft one, but it won't be with picks in the 1st three or four rounds, so they will get another developmental guy like McCarron.

 

Until relatively good one comes along they can get in the next few years, we have AD and that is probably a good as it will be.

 

I am not a huge AD fan, but not a hater either. I am ok with where we are there, well, I think I have no choice.

Bengals should be set at RB, and I'm okay with TE, too. Don't need to spend a high pick on either, in my opinion.

 

#1 priority should be offensive line. I'm a fan of taking the best defensive players available, too.

What is the scoop on Dennard? Is he going to start this year?

 

Peters (DB from Washington) is widely thought of as the most talented CB in the draft but got kicked off the team at Washington. Sounds like he may fall down to the Bengals' range. Wouldn't mind adding a lockdown corner, but there are other bigger concerns. Kirkpatrick & Dennard need to step up.

I suspect those people who are comfortable with the current WR corp are assuming Marvin Jones will be healthy. AJ, Marvin, Sanu & Denarius Moore should be solid. Add a healthy Tyler Eifert at TE, and Gio/Hill coming out of the backfield, and there are plenty of options.

We already saw how quick people are to annoint players on this team as can't miss just like Sanu and look what happened to him last year. He ended up being more of a hinder than help at WR position last year as he led the league in drops.

We had a solid number 2 in Marvin Jones. He has the numbers to prove that, and also the team stats showed what happens with him being on the field as they were a top 10 passing offense. Which a people remember they did draft a WR last year in James Wright who actually showed promising signs before he also got hurt.

You also dismiss why Burkhead had to play WR in the playoffs. Their #1 ,#2 , and #4 WR's were all out that game. Usually teams only keep 5 WR's on a roster and at most 6. So when more than half of your WR's are out and 3 of your top 4 are out, then there is going to be problems. The year before when they were healthy they were a top 10 passing offense. So yes the injury thing is valid because they proved what they could do when healthy. Now with that said I am fine with them adding a WR in this draft because with their top 3 WR's being free agents after this year, you have to assume they may lose at least one of them. So the Bengals have done a good job drafting guys a year early to prepare for guys to leave, so this would be a good year to add a WR. However as far as a huge need for this year, it is not a huge need as long as they stay healthy, but for depth reasons it couldn't hurt.

I am just echoing others but health was an issue last year and we added a FA WR that should make the active roster on Sunday.

 

Ask yourself if we draft a WR high in the draft what does that mean? I think it means we have to cut someone that can help us.

 

My other thought is the long term plan is NOT to keep AJ Green and if so we always need to be looking at WR.

 

I think OT and LB are greater needs for the Bengals. Additionally, I think Safety is a greater need than WR.

No way would I want them to do that. The young man has a serious lack of judgment. These types of guys usually work out badly for the Bengals.
