April 1, 201511 yr Cost of living numbers say it was more than enough. Richmond, KY is 86.2 (on a 100 scale). Bronx, NY is 159 (on same 100 scale). Cost of living is not quite twice as high, and he more than doubled his pay. My point was simple, he didn't double his salary. It costs a lot more to live in NY than Richmond. Thus, if he did it for a slight pay increase, it wasn't worth it. That's what my post said. If he did it for other reasons, well what do I care. Of course no one is going to make six figures, relocate from central Kentucky and go live in the Bronx anyway. So I'm not sure whatever number you used is even relevant.
April 1, 201511 yr I've worked for Steve Lochmueller directly before. I'd leave too. Please elaborate.

April 1, 201511 yr His salary goes from $225k to $500k. That's a step up from EKU money to F.U. money. Its going to be higher than $500k. I think $700 is more like it.
April 1, 201511 yr Its going to be higher than $500k. I think $700 is more like it. That's pretty significant change in salary...NY or not. The EKU president is very athletecentric and is doing lots of things to help with all the sports teams. Shocked if he left over facilities or support.
April 2, 201511 yr Please elaborate. It doesn't have anything to do with sports, so I won't elaborate too much. But Steve burned a lot of bridges in both Pikeville and Louisville. Ultimately, he accomplished the shareholder goal -- Make the company appear more profitable for a sale -- and as he was serving his shareholders, I have no problem with his business tactics. But being in meetings with him and hearing how he had a complete disregard for lower level staff, it really turned me off. He could've achieved the same goal without going out of his way to let everyone know that they were beneath him. The years have faded most of the specific memories, but I can't hear his name without getting upset all over again. I do hope it works out for EKU, however.
April 2, 201511 yr I bet they are aiming for a bigger name hire but put me in the boat that Happy Osborne would do big things at EKU or NKU.
April 3, 201511 yr Thank you for your response. Always interesting to get some insider information on our new AD. Of course, I'll judge for myself. But I'll take note of what you said and keep a watchful eye.
April 4, 201511 yr This, 100 percent. I have zero idea if coaching at Fordham is a better gig than coaching at EKU. I can promise you this though, it costs a lot, lot, more to live in one part of the country than the other. If he did it for a pay raise, it wasn't enough. Or maybe his motivation wasn't salary. As mentioned in my first post.
