I believe so. Morgan just moved back, why would they buy in Boones district to go to Ryle? That would make no sense and the khsaa would not allow the transfer. Now O'Hara I can't confirm either way.

Okay. I am confused here. Does Boone County not have closed enrollment? How can kids live in the Boone district and attend either Cooper or Ryle? Wondered this in basketball as well regarding the Kunkel kid. Thought he lived in Conner's jurisdiction. Believe the Moss' lived in the Ryle district and attended Boone?

Only way this happens is if a parent works in the Boone county school system then you can go to any Boone county school. Now I believe that the Morgans live in Hempsteade subdivision which is 100% Ryle's school district. Whatever smalls is eluding to, Ryle does not run that type of program. The AD would never allow the integrity of the school to be compromised for sports.

Sounds like since they had the option they picked the best school for them. Can you blame them. Or is the issue sour grapes?

This is not true,,, there are certain situations as to where a child can switch schools. Most moves have to be approved by the Dean of Students. However,, Boone County does not have open enrollment

But for sports I was under the assumption that the KHSAA has the final say in eligibility. You may be able to switch schools but ruled ineligible for sports. This just happened to the kid from Boone trying to go to Cov Cath. He could switch but not play due to the ruling by KHSAA.
