March 13, 201511 yr Finland, Home of the $103,000 Speeding Ticket Reima Kuisla, a Finnish businessman, was recently caught going 65 miles per hour in a 50 zone in his home country—an offense that would typically come with a fine of a couple hundred dollars, at most, in the U.S. But after Finnish police pulled Kuisla over , they pinged a federal taxpayer database to determine his income, consulted their handbook, and arrived at the amount that he was required to pay: €54,000. March 13, 201511 yr Finland, Home of the $103,000 Speeding Ticket Surprised some haven't suggested this system in the US It would never work in the US. The people with all the money would claim the police are targeting them based on the nice vehicle they were driving. It would be a giant cluster. And penalties for traffic violations should be about points on a license and a real threat of having your license suspended, not fundraising.

March 13, 201511 yr If KSP had an all-time points scoring list like the KHSAA does, I know a few members that might crack the top 10.
March 13, 201511 yr But people without money claim the police target them now based on what kind of car they drive I know plenty of cops who hate to pull fine German cars over. They have money, lawyers and arrogant mouths.

A local rich guy around here once told a police officer to take a close look at his BMW because that was the closest he'd ever get to one. I know at least around here guys like that make them NOT shy away from the fine German cars, especially not his. :lol2:
