Lexington Catholic 56 Bryan Station 53 (11th Region Championship)

Featured Replies

Great game last night at EKU. Both teams deserve to go to Rupp but unfortunately, one team has to lose. Bryan Station proved a lot of people wrong this season and was a pleasure to watch. Im just curious about a few things. Why didn't Bryan Station press throughout the entire game? Lexington Catholic had 11 turnovers late in the second half and with Bryan Station having enough bodies, I would expect them to pressure you the entire game. Another thing I'm curious about was the clock issue. How was the clock set at 8.5 seconds and then moved to 5 seconds without the ball being in play?

I've been waiting on an answer to the clock situation as well. They actually took it down to 3 seconds before the ball was entered. Anyone see something I missed?

Then this one really stings for Station. Nonetheless, it looks like Tommy Johnson is making his point and that there'll be discipline in the Station program as long as he's there, so you have to applaud him for that.

The kid was academically ineligible. This was not Coach Johnson taking a stand. No need to applaud a coach for his player not having the grades to play in the Regional tournament.

Right, because no coach, especially one in the 11th, has ever went around that and went to administration or over a teacher's head to get a kid out of a pickle, whether it be academic or other trouble. I mean ever. Not this year, not anytime. There's no way that coaches have influence with AD's, Principals, whoever. That's crazy to think, right?

Joker, let me get your take on this. Few weeks back, I believe you were critical with the LCA fans and student students section. I believe they were yelling/ chanting/ taunting something to the Lafayette players to a point that you can not repeat it here. What's your take on the Station parents/ adults in the stands that began to throw filled up, not empty water bottles and tennis balls on the court after the game? Some here were so critical about the LCA incident, but no one is concern about responsible adults in the stands doing despicable act like last night.

This is the 2nd time you've gone after someone who has tried to praise a coach, AD, school or whoever for doing the right thing. Why is that?

Dude, I'm not for it at all. That's no way to act. Right now, I've watched to the first quarter of the Catholic/Station game. I'm going to watch it all and offer up insight as the 11th Content Coordinator because Catholic's kids deserve that much.

I can't comment on what I haven't seen, but if the bolded is true, then #1 , that is no way to act, and #2 , is especially sad considering it is the actions of adults. I do want you to know that if it's something that I saw on the tape, that I'd have mentioned it. I'm not really one to shy from controversy. Hope that clears it up and/or answers your question.

Fair enough brother. Thank you.

Jokers wild I want to thank you for all your hard work and time you've put into this. Great job keep up the good work

I think this sets up great for Lex Catholic. should be a great game!

Are you talking about Lex Catholic game vs Station? If so your late my man... but if your talking about sts up well for Catholic vs Boyle Co then yes. Boyle is tough and it will be a great game.

Because I don't believe someone should be praised for DOING THE RIGHT THING. Never heard anyone praise coaches because their kids were ineligible. Blows my mind.

I like Tommy. Have no problem with him at all. Feel free to praise him for putting up with everything that goes into being the Bryan Station coach. But this isn't an issue of him doing a heroic act. He had no choice.

Can we avoid dragging other players who did play into this morass.

Didn't plan on it. Just didn't know why Cats1950 wanted to take shots at Johnson. Seems to be a guy with lots of info who wants to try and hammer one particular coach and didn't really know what was up with that. Maybe if he knew what he thinks he does, he'd be silent too, but yea... I'm not calling any other names particularly. That's not my style.

Let's bring this back to the game itself. As I said I would, I'm watching the 2nd Quarter right now. This is kind of piece-meal and not how I'd normally watch, but it's the best I can do now.

So far, I'd said: "Watched the first quarter so far. Jarod Griffin, you were doing work and I didn't give you the credit you deserved this season. Same goes to you Mr. Josh Owsley of Bryan Station. You were a senior glue guy who did a good job on Johnson early and were always a steadying influence."
