International Bagpipe Day 2015

To celebrate International Bagpipe Day 2015

The people who invented golf also think music comes out of a bagpipe.

Love some bag pipes. My favorite memory of a bagpipe:

When the shooting at Virginia Tech happened (maybe 2006), NKU had a candle light vigil around the lake. Behind everyone, in the trees, you could only see a silhouette and someone was playing Amazing Grace on them. It was perfect.

Would love to have them played at my funeral some day.

We have a bagpiper in our neighborhood. Yes always out in the Summer with his bagpipe. I heard My Old Kentucky Home being played a few weeks ago.

A guy on my sisters street in Ft Thomas is always outside playing his pipes. Sounds pretty neat.

A good friend of mine was from Scotland. She was one of a kind and she always said that when she died she wanted the bagpipes played. So when she died of a brain aneurysm at the age of 38, I went to her funeral. It was one of the most memorable celebrations of life I have ever been to and will never forget. The bagpipes were played before and after the service. Some of the songs were Mist Covered Mountains, Skye Boat Song, Going Home and Amazing Grace.
