March 8, 201511 yr ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – They’re calling it “prom-munism.” Seniors at an Albuquerque school want their prom to have a Communism theme. Seniors at Cottonwood Classical Preparatory School near I-25 and Paseo del Norte voted online this week for the theme of their prom this year. “They wanted prom-munism, so that’s what got voted for the most,” said senior Sarah Zachary. She voted for “A Night in the Reef,” because the prom is expected to take place at the Albuquerque Aquarium on April 25. “We have a lot of jokesters in our grade, so they wanted it to be funny and a lot of them are really intense with politics,” Zachary said. http://krqe.com/2015/03/05/seniors-vote-for-communism-themed-prom/
March 8, 201511 yr Nothing but fun or to get attention. BTW, my senior paper was on Communism in the USSR. It received a 98%, if anyone is interested in buying it for their own. Lol

March 9, 201511 yr Do whatever theme you want for your prom, that doesn't bother me in the slightest. But, how exactly is this even a theme? I mean, I'm assuming the main color will be red, but how exactly does this even work? Most proms will have some sort of a theme that involves "a night (somewhere)" or something along those lines. Communism, however, isn't a place or time or anything like that. It's kind of hard to have a theme that is an abstract concept. Again, it doesn't bother me and I really could care less why they did it. I'm just super confused by it. I want to see pictures and such when it happens.
March 10, 201511 yr This better be the song. This would be a good choice for an intro before they crown the King and Queen comrade: I really love Russian history, particularly the later 1800s early 1900s. The USSR is also an interesting time period because of how the country was ran.
