CPAC - Carnival of Clowns !

Here's your CPAC straw poll results, Republicans. You have Jeb Bush, probably the most sensible of the bunch , finishing a distant fifth behind non-electables Paul , Walker, Cruz, and Carson. Please, please GOP nominate one of those four!!!! Hey, even Sarah Palin , Donald Trump, and John Bolton got some votes. This list makes me chuckle. The only one that I think could a make a reasonable run at Hillary is Jeb but I think the country is too" Bush-logged" for him to even do much. Last poll I saw had her beating him pretty badly as well. REAL CLEAR has Walker, Bush , and Huckabee as front-runners. All this makes me happy! :)

1. Rand Paul 25.7 (31)

2. Scott Walker 21.4 (7)

3. Ted Cruz 11.5 (11)

4. Ben Carson 11.4 (9)

5. Jeb Bush 8.3 (N/A)

6. Rick Santorum 4.3 (7)

7. Marco Rubio 3.7 (6)

8. Donald Trump 3.5 (2)

9. Carly Fiorina 3.0 (N/A)

10. Chris Christie 2.8 (8)

11. Rick Perry 1.1 (3)

12. Bobby Jindal 0.9 (2)

13. Sarah Palin 0.8 (2)

14. Mike Huckabee 0.3 (2)

15. John Bolton 0.3 (N/A)

16. Lindsey Graham 0.1 (N/A)

17. George Pataki 0.1 (N/A)

I get you are liberal and don't like the Republicans. I have no problem with that. Just tell me what you like about Hillary. I am curious from a liberal perspective. I cannot think of one positive thing she has ever done politically. She is also pretty weak as a campaigner. She was supposed to be a lock in 08 and managed to lose the D nomination to Obama. Do you think she is a lock to get the nomination right now?

Fair questions but that's a completely different argument.

The point I took from the OP was that the first 4 are not electable. Hillary is as , right or wrong, she appeals to a enough Ds to win especially against the first 4.

Yeah, I think she is a lock for the nomination. I would be very surprised if anyone runs against her. Elizabeth Warren would be some competition but they met recently and I don't expect Warren to run against her. I think Hillary may have taken it for granted that she would win in '08 and snatched defeat from the jaws that should have been victory. I doubt if she makes that mistake again. Actually, I probably would prefer Warren to Hil' or Bill to Hil' but Warren won't run and Bill can't run so I will settle for Hil' over any of the 17 listed above.

I think it way too early to know who is electable. I am not even sure Hillary will get the Dem nomination. If Warren decides to run, it would get very interesting. The media loves Hillary...not sure if the rest of the country does. Regarding C-PAC, what do you expect? The least conservative guy of the bunch finished behind some of the other conservative guys. Not exactly shocking. I know you disagree with me but I would like to see if Ben Carson can make some sort of run. I like listening to him more than most of the others. I thought Fiorina was interesting too but if she ever got traction, the media would crucify her. I just think this thing is WIDE OPEN.

It is wide open. Just not on the Democratic side. I think Bush is the likely nominee but , you're right, so much can change between now and then. I actually think this Bush would be far better than the last one( I know that's not saying much) but the GOP is being pulled so far to the crazy right, he may not even get the nomination.

I'll respond nevertheless. Carson will fade like Micheal Jackson's skin. I've seen him speak and I was not impressed by the brain doctor. Lots of talk about how poor he was growing up and some cheap shots at his fellow African-American in the White House. I expected much more from Carson. I'd vote for Johnny Carson first and he's been dead for years!

It's not a matter of being electable, the party is struggling to message anything. Part of this is based on having nothing positive to message. This should be a ripe time for the party to have some wins on international relations, immigration and the economy, yet the two knuckleheads from our region are letting the GOP corpse rot.

This is before we get to the numerous errors Hilary has been a part of or the skeletons in her closet. Since no one from the GOP is able to formulate a coherent message, no one is able to call her on her :poop: and she will continue unimpeded.

No doubt some truth there. The GOP needs a message that resonates with the whole of the country and not just the crazies. No message means no wins...indefinitely!

I agree the GOP needs a lot of help. However, no wins indefinitely? Did you see the election results last November? That was a total butt whipping by the Republicans. Now whether they have a person who can win the White House is another matter.

I'm sorry. I should have been more specific. I meant White House wins.

To further my point, if the party can't coherently message the following, then they don't deserve to win:

Allowing the democratic president to betray Israel on Iran (if they can't swing any significant portion of the Jewish vote, shame on them)

Allowing Iran to spread their wars to Syria, Jordan, Yemen, etal.

Allowing all the limited growth of jobs to go to illegal immigrants, suppressing wages (the unions should love this one)

Growth in illegal immigration, absurd executive order

Significant growth in poverty

Significant growth in spending has done nothing to improve economy but put us further in debt

Obamacare- Where do we start?

Hilary- Russia, Benghazi, Bill, where do you want to start, she is a failed statesmen who will represent us on the world stage as our #1 , still can't be worse than Obama.

I like Dr. Carson.

I just could not stomach H. Clinton in the White House.

I'd vote for a pile of :poop: before I'd vote for Hillary or Warren . You would have to be one of crazies to vote for them .
