Actually I believe that the khsaa could have went as far back as 2001, 02 or somewhere around those years when the out/state kids were first brought in and stripped every win, district title the school had during that time. So actually it could have been a lot worse.

I believe your right. I knew a particular athlete during that time period that was from Huntington, but was living in the Flatwoods area that was Fairviews star player. He was a good kid and had a short stint in the NFL, but the circumstances as to why he ended up at Fairview instead of somewhere else, were shady to say the least.

What a mess. I wouldn't be surprised if the state doesn't take over running the district for a few years, or shut it down completely, depending on what all of this stems from.

If the BOE were to shut them down, does Boyd county have the room to house the extra students? I know Boyd has the new high school and I'm sure it was built to house more students than it currently does, but I have no idea what fairviews total enrollment is. Also, would it be more likely to just shut down the high school and make the middle and elementary school part of BCPS, or would they close them all and bus everyone out in the county?

314 last year.

Thanks.. That must just be for the high school though. I imagine Boyds new high school could handle an extra 3-400 students, its a pretty large facility. I'm curious what would happen if the entire Fairview district was shut down, would BCPS have room to house the extra students or would the elementary and middle schools stay open under BCPS's control. I doubt the elementary schools have the room, not sure about the middle school.

Either way it would be hard on the kids. Westwood is on the Greenup County/Boyd County line, on the northern end. The kids would have to be bussed or drive to the south central part of the county to attend school. That would essentially double or tripple the amount of time it takes them to get to and from school. Ashland and Russell would both be closer options, but I doubt either of those districts would or could take them.

Like I said we are all entitled to opinions I disagree but that's what it's about. Just think it's sad musick and others run off good football coaches.

Yes - that figure is for grades 9-12.

Yes, there were a couple of other Fairview payers that were in the Russell district that lived on that street and the a couple of the WVA recruits spent a lot of time there.

I absolutely know this as fact due to I have close family members that live on that particular street. I / we personally watched them on a regular basis coming and going along with a couple of "partys" that the entire neighborhood heard.

I have an important question, I know raceland and fairview are rivals but why do you care so much? In the grand scheme of life nobody cares honestly. Fairview had a good run now will go back to being lonely ole fairview that raceland beats every season. People love being mediocre in this area, and isn't it time to move forward and quit talking about the same ole stuff. If the OEA comes out and says nothing about recruiting, and other things then even more proof musick forced out the football coach. Hope you guys have a great week and move forward in your lives. #lifetooshort

Now let's play the He said/She said game. No body from Raceland does care. I'll tell you right now that Raceland could care less if Musick resigns because what does he do on the football field? Nothing. He spectates. But what is important is that some schools in this area, not singling anyone out, have problems doing what they are supposed to do.

However, after all this is said and done, if those kids would have actually lived where they were supposedly living or commutes from their houses and weren't subjected to living on another land, we wouldn't even have a problem to talk about. At this point, it really isn't about football. It's about doing the right things. And that goes to any school anywhere. And I'm not saying Raceland is perfect. It just so happened to be Raceland's rival.

:thumb: Exactly ! RePeat ....I personally don't and don't know of anyone in the Raceland fan base that cares, could give a flip what anyone at Fairview does.

I post / stated Facts that I know on the thread subject. I will stand by anything that I have posted on any f the threads about that school in Westwood.

This thread was a new one on the superintendent resigning ....again.

I will post my opinion and/or any facts that I know on a current thread. Having said that, I will wait on the next thread (will probably be on any decision on the KY. State Education dept. or KHSAA news, if any) about that school in Westwood and probably will post on it. I am done with this one.

Did you ever get to see "fight night?" I believe that was on Saturday night's.

With all due respect oldrambler seems to me you care because you post all the time about Fairview. Not trying to be rude but you just said you stated facts so I'm stating one based on seeing how many posts you have on Fairview. You are correct though it's time to move forward like I stated so I'm finished as well.

Point of clarification from your earlier post, Chad Tackett was a Fairview grad and Fairview player. Why was he pushed out? Well, let's go back and look at the chain of events leading to that event:

Musick steps down as Head Football Coach.

Chad Tackett becomes Head Coach.

Gary McPeek was hired by the school system.

Nathan McPeek was hired as an assistant coach.

Chad Tackett was fired as head coach.

Rex Cooksey was hired as Head Coach for one season.

Nathan McPeek was hired as Head Coach.

Chad was pushed out to make room for Nathan McPeek to become Head Coach and Cooksey was put in between to make it less obvious.

I speak of this event, because I do care, Chad is a good person and a good coach.

Normally, people that do something wrong want people to stop talking about it because the average person has a very short memory about wrong doing, i.e. political scandals. We talk about it to make sure those memories are not forgotten. When any school thinks about cheating, they should immediately think, "we don't want the sanctions that Fairview received".
