Is Russell that good or did Ryle have an off day?

Ryle had an off day. Had the lead the whole game and pretty much quit playing. When Russell finally got back in the game Ryle had a 4-3 lead but a blown call at second on a steal when the runner slid right into the fielders glove and Ryles catcher dropped a third strike it was clear the Raiders were done for the day. In their defense, they have been playing a lot of baseball.

Rest up Raides....McNicholas (Cinti) on Monday

On a side note the Riders were playing without a few key players who did not make the trip.

My gosh....Poor Ryle......

Here are a few notes. This was Russell's THIRD consecutive game of the day. Started the day playing at 9 am against South Laurel, then played PRP at 11:30 and then played Ryle at 2:00. Russell also pitched a Sophmore.

So to claim the only reason Russell won this game was because Ryle had an off game is a bit much. Oh yeah, blame it on the umpire's, that's original. The score was 3-0 going into the bottom of the third, That must have been when they "quit playing and let Russell back in the game" Ryle scored one run in the bottom of the 6th to take the lead 6-5. Then I agree that the pitching fell apart for Ryle in the top of the seventh. Walk, strike out pass ball reaches safely, walk, walk, hit , walk, walk, hit.....Final Russell 12, Ryle 5.

Nice Game Russell.

Nice Game Russell.

Good post!

Sounds like an unfortunate day for ryle...but definetly a nice win for russell. You have to be somewhat good to beat ryle whether they're on or off...why would russell have to play three straight games though? I know in most tournaments you atleast get one game's rest.

Poor Russel....boooo hoooo

Ryle traveled to Louisville, played 2 games, got to the hotel around midnight,

back at Southerns field by 9:00am played one, packed it over to PRP and then played a rather weak Russell team and lost. Clearly an off day for the Raiders. And that was the question.

I wasnt saying anything bad about ryle...i simply asked why russell had to play three straight games and stated that whether ryle was on or off russell must be a decent team because ryle is pretty good themselves.

Russell left straight from school on Friday and rode 3 hours to Louisville Southern and played a 7:30 game on Friday night as well. Went to eat after the game and got to the Hotel around 11:30, then back up at 6:30 Saturday morning to play the three straight teams. And "that rather weak Russell team" is 10-5 with one of those wins being Ryle.

As for why Russell played 3 straight, Desales dropped out last week and the PRP Coach ask Russell's Coach if they could play the fourth game.

Ryle is not playing well right now. Congrats to Russell on the good come-from-behind victory. Hopefully, we get to playing the way we can soon.

What's your point...we played more games on Friday then you did and you played more games on Saturday...and everyone there played 4 games.

And as for your soph pitcher...I hope by the time he is a senior he can heat up his fastball to low 60's.

I wasn't present at any of these games. But a lose is a lose. Both teams played about the same about of games.

And Ryle lost every single one of there games so obviously this wasn't the first OFF day.

Show some class.

DD - sometimes a team is simply better. It seems that you never want to give any credit. I'm glad you're loyal but come on. You're hurting the cause for other RR fans.

You forgot to tell us how many bloop hits Russell had.
