16thBBall Fan Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 Just curious? I don't think The Piarist School from the 15th Region has ever made it to regionals.
DragonFire Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 We only have one in the fourth region, which is South Warren, as they are still relatively new (sixth season) in a highly competitive district.
mooremiller31 Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 LCA is the only one in the 11th region.
B-Ball-fan Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 From the 9th Region: Covington Latin Heritage Academy Villa Madonna
gchs_uk9 Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 All schools in the 12th have played in the regional tournament, although for Burgin and KSD it has been a while. KSD has only played once, in 1981. Burgin had lots of success in the 30s, 40s, and 50s, but that was in the 11th Region. Their only 12th Region appearance was in 1986.
Region 1 Basketball Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 1st Region: Community Christian Academy (CCA) Christian Fellowship School (CFS)
gchs_uk9 Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 1st Region: Community Christian Academy (CCA) Christian Fellowship School (CFS) CFS must be very small. I noticed that they didn't play in the postseason this season and have sat out the postseason several other times over the years. What are their numbers?
nkywildcat68 Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 Villa Madonna made the 9th region tournament in 2009 I dont believe Calvary Christian has been in the regional tournament (9th/10th)
Rez Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 LCA is the only one in the 11th region. That could change tonight.
Rez Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 Villa Madonna made the 9th region tournament in 2009 I dont believe Calvary Christian has been in the regional tournament (9th/10th) I believe that would make Calvary the only team in the 10th.
B-Ball-fan Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 Villa Madonna made the 9th region tournament in 2009 I dont believe Calvary Christian has been in the regional tournament (9th/10th) Wow...you're right...I have no memory of this whatsoever.... I looked it up and it says that Villla beat Ludlow 62-59 in the 34th District tourney in 2008 to advance to the 9th Region Tournament where they lost in the first round to St. Henry 59-56.
nkywildcat68 Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 (edited) I believe that would make Calvary the only team in the 10th. Silver Grove has never made while they were in the 10th, but they have been a couple of times in the 9th, last time in the late 70s Edited February 25, 2015 by nkywildcat68 typo
gchs_uk9 Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 Silver Grove has never made while they were in the 10th, but they have been a couple of times in the 9th, last time in the late 70s Silver Grove has been to the region three times: 1935, 1959, and 1978. They lost in the first round all three years.
Rez Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 Here is what I could find: 1. Community Christian 3. Frederick Fraize 4. South Warren 6. Beth Haven 6. Whitefield Academy 7 Walden 7. St. Francis 9. Heritage Academy 9. Covington Latin 10. Calvary Christian 11. LCA 14. Riverside Christian 15. Piarist No Region: Christian Fellowship I don't know, but I would guess all of these but South Warren are Class A schools. Of them, Beth Haven, Whitefield Academy, Calvary Christian and LCA have all played in at least 1 All A State Tournament.
gchs_uk9 Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 Here is what I could find: 3. Frederick Fraize 6. Whitefield Academy These two are fooling you because of their names. Frederick Fraize is the official name, but they used to be referred to as Cloverport (the town they are located in) and often still are. Cloverport has made several trips over time but not for some time and none since the name was changed. Whitefield Academy used to be known as Highview Baptist and played in the 7th Region tournament a couple times in the 1990s. I believe Jeff Morrow was the coach there before he moved on to Jeffersontown. Their teams in 1995 and 1996 were very good.
