Mustang Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 Brossart Athletic Director Adam Franzen announced yesterday (Tuesday, Feb. 24th) that our Football Mustangs will play their five 2015 home games at Bob Miller Stadium on the campus of Campbell County Middle School this fall. Brossart has utilized Newport Stadium, and more recently Scott High School, as our home fields since the formation of our football program. Moving to Bob Miller Stadium will give us a closer proximity to our high school, and a more realistic feeling of a "home field." Bob Miller Stadium served as the home to the Campbell County Camels prior to their moving to the new "Pyramid" on campus in Claryville. Our football Mustangs have been realigned back to Class 1-A where we will compete with Paris, Nicholas County, Bracken County and Berea in district play. Our Gilbert Ridge property is projected to undergo $850k in developments in the near future, which will provide us with a soccer/football practice complex as we grow our program.

That is great news for the program. With the move to 1-A have the numbers improved
greenandpurple Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 Has there been a Head Coach named or are they still taking Applications? I heard last year the Head Coach was only doing it for a year.
Mustang Posted February 25, 2015 Author Posted February 25, 2015 Has there been a Head Coach named or are they still taking Applications? I heard last year the Head Coach was only doing it for a year. Paul Wiggins is firmly entrenched as our head coach.
TAC Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 Mustang, do you still plan on having Coach Wiggins discussing this on the webcast at halftime of the District game this evening on index ?
BirdBrain Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 Great news. Still hoping someone finds some funding to convert the field on the ridge to an appropriate playing surface.
coach1980 Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 Great news and good luck moving forward !!!
Pile Driver Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 I thought it was foolish to travel to Taylor Mill to play home games. Great news for the Mustang program. It certainly cant hurt them as they build.

It certainly cant hurt them as they build. While I think it will be nice to be located next to the school in Alexandria, by no means was it foolish, at the time, to play the games in Taylor Mill. Scott is actually one of the closest schools to Brossart and it was a financially better deal. Scott and Ken Mueller were gracious hosts to the Mustangs!
Pile Driver Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 I agree that the folks at Scott were great hosts and the facilities are top notch, it was also a chance for the former head coach to go back to his old stomping grounds and say "look at me, I'm a head coach" as they kept him at the middle school level. That is also a reason Scott ended up on the schedule and those games were ridiculous.
