Dan Penick, who had originally verballed to Wright St. outside of Dayton, has changed his mind and will now be attending Morehead St.

That may have played a part in his reason to switch to Morehead. Good Luck Dan.

I have never seen Dan play until tonight and I can say that he needs to do a lot of work this summer to see any PT at Morehead State!

I think that the Morehead coaches will do a great job teaching Dan to take his game to the next level. He still has a lot of potential to be reached and the coaches want him to play as the 4.. Look for some good things out of Penick in the future!

First time for me also, what I did like was the frame and IMO he has some decent ball skills for a big man. You have to admit no player was very impressive on the KY side, even Slaughter (who was unstoppable vs our boys) wouldn't impress the first timer.

Whenever there is a coaching change at a school situations change and that is pretty much the case with Wright State. Although Dan was given some assurances by the new coach there that there was still a scholarship for him Dan felt that he should at least explore his options when they made the change at WSU.

When the New Morehead coach was named he contacted Dan almost immediately and was prepared to offer up a scholarship sight unseen to Dan.

After spending a day in Morehead Dan decided this would be the best situation for him. He has a large number of family members from the southeastern part of the state and with an OVC schedule it would allow for them to see him play far more often. Also a number of Ludlow kids attend or will be attending Morehead and that will make the adjustment that much easier. Add that to the fact that it appears the new coach may also be signing some other Ky kids that Dan has played with and it became obvious this would be the right fit for him.

Dan works hard and would spend all of his time in the gym and I'm certain he will see his fair amount of playing time sooner rather then later.
