Lots to dislike in this Louisville team, but the lack of expectations may mean that this will turn into one of the more interesting stretch runs in recent years. Demonstrate the ability to win at Florida State on the weekend and this team might just have enough to win a first round tournament game, something that certainly appeared a dicey proposition for a large chunk of this game.

He doesn't have the same level of defense, but there were flashes from Quentin Snider that gave us reasons to be excited for the future as Louisville fans. Terry Rozier's three from the corner to get the Cards within one at the 5:35 mark was set up by Snider moving into the lane then passing back to Rozier behind him for the open look. Has any other Louisville player set up an open shooter like that this season? Not to my knowledge. The shoot-first mentality of this team extends to Rozier and Harrell to be sure, but when the point guard has the bug, it's a problem. In two games playing significant minutes at the point, Snider has demonstrated not only an ability, but a desire to use his play as a point guard to set up his teammates for better shots, something sorely missing from the team this season.

In the end, despite another dismal offensive showing, Louisville woke up with about 8 minutes to play and started hitting from everywhere and really clamped down defensively. Louisville completed a 13-point second half comeback and grabbed the road victory.

Kind of surprised that it took this long to have the thread started. I was going to start one this morning if a UL fan didn't.

I didn't get to watch the game, but listened to the last couple minutes on the radio. Sounded like the Cardinals really battled back to get the W.

Not for nothing, but the Louisville fans in attendance were numerous, rowdy, and loud. Does anyone know if the group that used to take buses up to the DePaul game decided to make this their new destination spot?

Minutes played last night:

Rozier - 40

Harrell - 38

Blackshear - 37

Snider - 36

Snider didn't start but it was abundantly clear that Aaron couldn't get it done as a starter. Snider came in after the first few minutes and then never sat for any significant amount of time.

Louisville's defense over the final 10 minutes of the game surrendered just 10 points, three of which were a garbage time shot from beyond the arc with less than a second remaining in the game. It was Ga Tech's only made three-pointer of the game.

Also, it's easy to see why Pitino drones on endlessly about the importance of good passing and ball movement and how lacking it's been for this team. Of the five threes Louisville made as part of making the comeback and winning the game in the final nine minutes, four of them were assisted: two by Snider, one by Harrell, one by Blackshear.

Exciting finish to another UL slug fest. Their games are tough to watch. Thankfully the coaches ran out of timeouts which helped make it interesting down the stretch. UL has won two straight games yet it feels like they've dropped two in a row. Anyone else feel that way?

Sounds like it was another Big East South tilt.

Great observation. Those fans made noise and the guys played harder because of it. Those were true fans...we've become a little spoiled this year. If that game were at home we mightve headed for the bar or even worse bit our fingernails to a nub.

Solid road conference win. Very ugly game on both sides. This was a huge win for Louisville after the dismissal of Jones. I thought they played terrible but got down 13 and continued to scrap and play hard to find a way to win. If they had lossed this game with 3 possible losses at the end of the season could have been crushing. With no time to prepare for a monday night game without Jones I will take the win. Now if they struggle from here on out with prep time knowing Jones is gone we could be one and done in both the ACC and NCAA tourney.

We'll definitely learn a lot here in the final three games: at FSU, NotreDame and Virginia at home. Win at FSU and I'll still hold hope for getting to the second weekend of the tournament.
