Boyle County 58 Christian Academy of Louisville 55

Final from Boyle County on Senior Night.

Jeremiah Bell nails a three pointer with "2.8" seconds left to get the win for Boyle County. It was an awesome moment for the Boyle County Rebels as CAL led most of the second half. The Rebels re-took the lead with about 2:00 left in the game and was able to close out the game for the win. CAL tied the score at 55 on a David Scott three pointer with about 22 seconds left and then JBell hit the 3 with "2.8" seconds left for the win. CAL was unable to get the shot off when in the "2.8" seconds they had left at the end of the game.

I'm agitated that I didn't think about this game tonight smh.

Now....if you've noticed I put "2.8" in " ". I did this because I work the scoreboard/clock and I am human. When there was 7:15 left in the game a timeout was called and for some reason I failed to stop the clock. I eventually stopped the clock at 7:11 and hit the horn to get the referees attention and let them know I screwed up. I was then told that there is "no way for us to know how much time has ran off of the clock" and that 7:11 will remain on the clock.

Now, I'm not an idiot but I guarantee 7:14 or 7:15 should have been on the clock but that's a non-issue now. On to the "2.8".....

Jeremiah Bell hits the 3....pandemonium ensues....CAL coach calls timeout. I hear him call timeout and as soon as he does the refs blow the whistle and I stop the clock IMMEDIATELY. And I stress immediately. Not one person from CAL complained about the time on the clock. The clock says 1.8 left in the game.

Anyways...the refs have a conference and come and tell me to put 2.8 on the clock.

WHAT????

So NOW you guys know what the hell is going on and NOW you guys want to fix the time on the clock?

That's crap. Straight up and down that's crap because I KNOW I did my job right at that time and those 3 guys didn't.

I'll never forget it and this is from a guy who NEVER complains about refs.

Hagen Tyler was sick tonight and didn't enter the game at all until sometime into the 4th quarter.

That's my official so explanation for the score of this game. We never seemed to be in sync.

Jeremiah Bell and Colton Elkins played good games tonight. I think Colton had 3-4 dunks, around 5-6 blocks and rebounded the ball very well. Tristin Bell contributed nicely off the bench and Chapman Bean had another great all around game. Keagan Hinkle and Josiah Robbins also did well tonight.

David Scott seemed to score at will for CAL. Very very nice player!

DJ Scott is a nice player. I thought for sure it would a blowout but I guess without your main guy, the game was close. In Jefferson County, there are some good kids and the teams are spread out.

I liked the way Boyle fought back after being in a pretty deep hole. I don't think LC can complain about the officials. I thought they got every close call in the game. I think Bottoms and Price go overboard to show no favoritism to Boyle. The late clock wasn't the only change the officials made. Price made the 5 second call against LC clearly when they failed to get the ball in bounds late in the 4th and after the time out let the other ref talk him out of it. Boyle needs to protect the ball better after getting rebounds. They made several unforced turnovers which has been a pattern that will hurt them come tournament time.

How many points did DJ (Scott) score last night? Anybody else play well from CAL?

PP92, how much has CAL's program improved over the last few years? I can remember playing them when I was with Covington Holy Cross and I don't remember them competing at this level.

New coach starting this year might have helped a little bit.

I just looked at their record, didn't realize they weren't in double digit wins, but still this is a surprising score from the standpoint of who they were playing.

Hagen Tyler was sick and didn't enter the game until the 4th quarter and even then he didn't score at all. If anything he provided an emotional lift when he came onto the court.

You take away any team's best player and they won't perform at the level they are accustomed to playing at.

Hagen has been sick a lot lately. He needs to stay well over the next several weeks!

No doubt.
