February 13, 201511 yr Good game but Billups has to have more than one shot attempt in the 2nd half. Too many turnovers and missed FTs for the Norse but still an entertaining game.
February 13, 201511 yr Author The game was there for the taking but they made too many mistakes. Foolish turnovers and sloppy sets. How they didn't go down low with Jalen is beyond me. He's a monster but was mostly used to set screens. And why does Bezold only play one big at a time? It seemed like it was Billups and Jackson or Geisler and Jackson most of the time and to me Jackson isn't a true big. Were Billups and Geisler ever on the court at the same time?
February 13, 201511 yr Author How was the crowd? Decent but nothing too special. I'm terrible at guessing attendance so I won't guess a number.
February 13, 201511 yr How was the crowd? Decent but nothing too special. I'm terrible at guessing attendance so I won't guess a number. I'm awful at guessing too. I thought the student section was a pretty good size. I'm about to show how bad I am at guessing, but maybe 250?
February 13, 201511 yr How was the crowd? Announced attendance 2,226. I'll wait to hear the actual attendance. http://espn.go.com/ncb/boxscore?gameId=400588763
February 13, 201511 yr That's mainly due to $1 beer night. First game I have attended and thought the crowd was pretty disappointing.
February 13, 201511 yr Announced attendance 2,226. I'll wait to hear the actual attendance. Florida Gulf Coast Eagles vs. Northern Kentucky Norse - Box Score - February 12, 2015 - ESPN Wow, I thought NKU attendance would be higher. KY Wesleyan ave 2,600 a game...

Billups and Giesler both started at Nebraska, NKU was winning 10-2 in the first 5 minutes and Billups picked up his second foul and had to come out. Haven't played together since and that was second game of the year.
February 13, 201511 yr Wow, I thought NKU attendance would be higher. KY Wesleyan ave 2,600 a game... A lot more entertainment options near here than Owensboro but that's still no excuse. If your not coming out to see the Norse then why not come out and watch Florida Gulf Coast. They are probably going to be a tournament team and they're ranked 18th mid-major team in the country. Where else can you watch a great Div. I game for $7.00 and $1.00 beers. I don't get it.
February 13, 201511 yr Wow, I thought NKU attendance would be higher. KY Wesleyan ave 2,600 a game... I think Bellarmine probably averages at least 2,000.
February 13, 201511 yr Author I'm awful at guessing too. I thought the student section was a pretty good size. I'm about to show how bad I am at guessing, but maybe 250? 250 for the student section sounds about right to me. (Now look we're both probably off by a lot lol) Billups and Giesler both started at Nebraska, NKU was winning 10-2 in the first 5 minutes and Billups picked up his second foul and had to come out. Haven't played together since and that was second game of the year. It just seems foolish. The lack of post plays last night was disappointing. Plus if Billups or Geisler was setting a screen, there was nobody down low to get a board.
February 13, 201511 yr Regarding the post play, on the radio last night I heard Bezold comment that he didn't think his post players were posting up hard enough, as well as his guards not looking to get the ball on the inside. Would have been real nice to see the Norse get the win.
February 13, 201511 yr As for attendance, I really wish it would go up. Be nice if more alumni would come back to watch them play, but most of the alumni didn't go to games when they were students, so why go back as an alumni? It's disappointing, but I'm sure many feel that way. I try to get to at least five games a season, this year I'm sitting at four and I don't know if I can make another because of HS bball commitments.
