Of the choices above, pick which school that has the best overall football program. That includes all the following:

* All level of play - 9th 10th 11th 12th

* Fan Support

* Coaches

* Wins

* Titles

* Facilities

* Etc.

I mean include everything in your result, not just this years success or failure but all time. Which school is the best in football overall.

Past choices have been --

Ashland (82%)

Boyle County (33%) -- edged Beechwood (28%)

Covington Catholic (44%) -- Corbin had 36%

Danville (79%)

Elizabethtown (56%)

Franklin-Simpson (28%) -- Fort Knox was second with 22%

Glasgow (39.4%) -- George Rogers Clark was a close second with 36.8%

Highlands (76.5%)

Iroquois (100%) -- in a squeaker

Johnson Central (40.8%)

Knox Central (38.9%) -- edging Knott Central (37.2%) by a vote

Lexington Catholic (50%) -- Lloyd Memorial had 14%

Male (53%) -- Mayfield was second with 21%

Newport Central Catholic (79.6%)

Owensboro Catholic (52%)

Paducah Tilghman (31.1%) -- Edged Pikeville by two votes (29.2%)

Russell (42.3%) -- edged Rockcastle County by three votes

St. Xavier (83.3%)

So of the choices, which includes all the football playing schools in Kentucky that begin with the letter 'T', which one is best?

This is another one, that based on the criteria that the Scribe has established, for the life of me I cannot understand how anyone can rate Trigg Co. above Trinity, unless you are voting with your heart and not your mind. On what grounds do you justify this (outside of the animosity of the public vs. private controversy)...and this comes from someone who is not a pebble lover? :rolleyes:

I voted for Trigg Co. I looked past the number of state championships. That obviosuly wasn't a top criteria in the r schools. Russellville has more state champions than all of the other schools combined but was fourth? As for Trigg Co., I based my vote on what they have to work with compared to Trinity. They have 1/7th the number of boys in their high school yet have fielded winning teams at the freshman, jv, and varsity level. At the freshman and jv level, they are forced to play the 3A and 4A schools because most of the other 1A and 2A won't play them or don't have a 9th grade and jv team. They have one of the best traveling crowds in the state and are putting players into d1 schools. They do all of this without the financial well-being that Trinity gets from their daddys. As far as facilities, I have seen their weightroom and it is among the best in the state. Their stadium is able to host a doubleheader to start the season that brings in 5000 people. I don't see many other smaller schools doing this. Mine is a per capita vote. Except for the state championships (which didn't matter in the R voting, the M voting, or the P voting), Trigg County is comparible to Trinity in all of the other criteria despite having 1/4th as many students. If you look at state championships, Trinity walks away with it. If you look at each of the criteria and what each school has to work with and what they are producing, I think it's closer than you may think.

Thank you WestKY for you well-worded response :thumb: . Nonetheless, when you look at the criteria the Scribe has established for consideration of your vote, there is no catagory for "I wish I could've". Trigg Co. competes annually against schools within the 2A catagory and has nothing to show in the trophy case. Why are they losing against comparable oposition at crunch time?

P.S.: I really feel stupid taking up for the dreaded Landfill Gang...but what's right is right. I should go back to the thread on "S" teams. :eek:

I would expect the reason is simply for recognition in a lot of cases. For instance, in the "D" thread (which Manual was - improperly, in my opinion - placed) Danville got the vast majority, but due to the history of Manual, there HAD to be some voter recognition. Of course a school like Danville will get the most, but there's gotta be some love for others. Is it logical? Not really, considering the question posed, but it makes sense to me.

The thought had crossed my mind to lump all of the Louisville and Lexington schools into the 'L's such as Lou. Manual and Lex. Henry Clay :lol:

I was just using the official name of the school, not that they would have fared much better against Male and Mayfield. :D

A puzzling statement, Ram2003...something illogical makes sense to a Crimson? :lol: :scared: :lol:

You mean Jefferson County Male High School?

Ignorance is simply bliss. :sleep:

So your saying from a financial standpoint Trinity is not head and shoulders above Trigg Co. with regard to resources etc. I know not all students come from rich familys but I would be willing to bet that there is quite a disparity between the average household income of a student at Trinity when compared to a student at Trigg.
