February 4, 201511 yr But at a time when anyone who doesn’t like the Patriots is quick to point out that, between Spygate, #DeflateGate, and the lingering fumes of the retracted Boston Herald report regarding the videotaping of the St. Louis walk-through before Super Bowl XXXVI, all four trophies are tainted, let’s be fair to the Patriots. If what they do is cheating, plenty of teams have cheated over the years. Broncos and the salary cap. Browns and sideline texting. Falcons and crowd noise. Chargers and prohibited substance. Broncos videotaping San Fran. Jets impeding the Fins. Injury report violations. Rampant tampering with players. So in some way or another, everyone cheats. It’s not an excuse for the Pats, it’s the reality of the NFL. And it’s unfair to wag a finger only at the Patriots. In one way or another, fingers should be wagged at most if not all of the 32 NFL franchises. If the Patriots cheated, they?re hardly alone | ProFootballTalk

Amazing how no one ever clamors that the Broncos and Elway's titles should have asterisk next to them, isn't it?
February 4, 201511 yr It's funny every year how there isn't supposed to be any contact between teams and potential free agents, yet we see big time deals announced just minutes after free agency "starts".

Deflategate came at the wrong time and got way way way too much attention for something that is so minor. The mainstream media (and basically non-football people) really put a damper on the couple of weeks leading up to the Super Bowl. Had this happened during the season it would have been a flash in the pan by comparison. In short, the issue is with the NFL and the leadership of the NFL. In my opinion the NFL needs new leadership and they need to quit majoring in the minors and minoring in the majors.
February 4, 201511 yr If your kid cheats in school, no big deal? They’re hardly alone? A husband? A wife? Any profession you can think of? They’re hardly alone? While I get what you're driving at, the way I see it, the Patriots brought it on themselves with their checkered past.
February 4, 201511 yr Bengals fans wish just one time that there was some type of controversy surrounding their team; something to light a fire under the franchise!

If the Pats cheated, punish them, but the point we all need to understand is cheating is rampant in the NFL.

In my opinion the NFL needs new leadership and they need to quit majoring in the minors and minoring in the majors. Agreed. I'll take it a step further. Had it been any other team, regardless of the timing of it, it would've been a minor blip on the radar. What it comes down to, IMO, is everyone hates the Patriots because they're sick of them always winning and they have a HC that is pompous arrogant jack-wagon. So they make a very minor issue into a huge national headline story. FWIW, supposedly its now been reported that only 1 of the 12 footballs was found to be 2 PSI under-inflated, and the rest were all much closer to the minimum amount. Who knows at this point. :idunno:
February 4, 201511 yr Author Bengals fans wish just one time that there was some type of controversy surrounding their team; something to light a fire under the franchise! Not at all, most of us want a better QB and/or different coach.
February 4, 201511 yr Bengals fans wish just one time that there was some type of controversy surrounding their team; something to light a fire under the franchise! Jeff Blake, former Bengals QB, admitted to cheating every game he played just last week. Said he had ball boys deflate his footballs.
February 4, 201511 yr Author Jeff Blake, former Bengals QB, admitted to cheating every game he played just last week. Said he had ball boys deflate his footballs. And didn't he state everyone does it? And he wasn't the only former QB to tell us everyone cheats with ball pressure, right?
February 4, 201511 yr And didn't he state everyone does it? And he wasn't the only former QB to tell us everyone cheats with ball pressure, right? This is correct. Matt Leinart said the same.
February 4, 201511 yr So, can we officially start referring to John Elway and the Denver Broncos as 2** time Super Bowl Champions? Funny how that never comes up when discussing either of them. :idunno:
February 4, 201511 yr Sounds like someone is just a little bit sensitive to all the jabs being thrown at the Patriots.
February 4, 201511 yr Methinks thou dost protest too much. Guilt creeping in? :lol2: Others did it too is a really, really weak argument. For anything.
