Anyone heard any rumblings about this job??? I know some people around the program and they either arent saying anything or really have no idea on candidates? IMO, this is a plum job. The Devils have some of the best talent in western Kentucky. I would think their would be several big name coaches interested. Anyone heard anything??

As crazy as this may sound...I think Owensboro is a little bit too big a job for Morris.

 

Owensboro is going to draw an applicant pool of the best and brightest in not only most of KY, but also some from the Evansville area...I can't see them wanting to hire a guy who is already at retirement age, has no ties to the area, and who is financially able to up and leave at any second.

They might not but is Warren East going to? Rumor is that he has applied at Warren East? Any one have any info on that?

I think that Coach Edge from Owensboro Catholic would be very successful at Owensboro if he wants to change schools.

Does OHS want Coach Edge?, is what I'm hearing and the answer is NO. I don't think other coaches and admin want the spread at OHS.

A ton of OHS fans would like to have John Edge, but I don't know where the administration stands with it. I honestly believe John Edge could do big things at OHS, but the chances of that happening are slim to none. I don't think Edge will make the move and I'm not sure some folks over at OHS want him (which is completely insane). I just hope OHS gets a coach who will continue the good things that Prince has done (ie off the field stuff, classroom) and build upon the potential of the program. I think OHS can get to the level of Bowling Green and Highlands and be a regional player. The question is: Is the OHS administration content with city county titles or are they wanting to be playing in state championship games on a yearly basis? We'll find out very soon what the answer is.

Gotcha. I had a friend tell me a few days back that Morris is looking into it. Wonder if he is after Warren Central as well? The word is that East could be a bit down for a couple of years?

I would not anticipate them being down much...they return the Reynolds kid who is probably the second best Fr. prospect in the state behind the kid from Manual. To give you an idea, Reynolds is the cousin of former East players Shenard Holton (UofL) and Eli Brown (UK) and was the District POY as a Freshman this season. They additionally have a solid stock of athletes...if anything, East may suffer a bit because of the strength of their District (South Warren, Warren Central, Franklin, Allen) but I would expect them to be a consistent top 15 team in 4A for the next three years with a chance to be special in 2016 and '17.

That would be a shame if they let the assistants dictate this pick. I'm sure the Offensive Coordinator doesn't want the spread because he doesn't know it. My thoughts are bring in the spread if it brings in a good coach.

Good point Brown. According to the press release, Chris Gaddis stated that they were going to form a committee to go through the coaching search. I don't know if they've already done that or if any thing has been decided. No much talk right now and hopefully I can find out some answers tonight.
