Who is the best sub .500 team in your region

Featured Replies

Forums always give a lot of love for those teams who are above .500, they deserve it to. But it seems every year a one of these type teams pulls an upset in the district or regional tourneys. I was wondering who some of these teams are to look out for as we move forward.

In region 2 I think that team could be UHA. They are 5-16 now, but have won their last 4 and have been somewhat competitive for at least 2 to 3 quarters in many of the last few games they lost.

Dunbar is only 8-12 after an 0-8 start. They've one 5 of their last 6 with their only loss being by 1 point to Wayne County. They could easily win the 11th. Or not even get out of that murderous district.

In Region 10, it has to be either Harrison County at 9-10 or Bourbon County at 7-12.

Either team is capable of making a deep run.

In the 16th it's Fleming County (9-11) with Lewis County (8-11) and East Carter (9-10) being close behind.

East Jessamine or Casey for the 12th

Presently in the 9th, Newport and Holy Cross are both sitting at one game under .500, and are without a doubt the best sub .500 teams that the 9th has to offer.

Neither team would exactly be expected to pull any major upsets knocking off the top 3, but they are still decently competitive teams that you can't look past as they are still quite capable of bringing it.

Technically Conner is one game above .500, but just for discussion they're worthy of mention as they could be considered with the two teams already mentioned.

Beechwood is sitting exactly at .500, and although no one expects much from them, they did manage to beat Boone County not too long ago.

I agree and I think I lean towards Holy Cross over Newport as the best sub .500 team in region 9.

Hazard Bulldogs, currently sitting at 10-11 in the 14th region but getting better each game. Whomever draws the Bulldogs in the 54th district wont have an easy task advancing.

Agreed. Watch out for Dunbar in the post-season. To me, they're the best sub-.500 team in the state.
