Colonel Crazies On Capitol Hill

Featured Replies

As they do every year, Cov Cath sent 100+ of their Colonels along with several hundred other faithful from the Diocese of Covington to represent the school and take part in the national March For Life in Washington DC, held annually on the anniversary of the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision. It's not terribly unusual for the diocesan group to be greeted by a Senator or Congressman from their constituency, but I don't know that they've ever been asked to "perform" for one of them. :lol2:

KY 4th District Congressman Thomas Massie posted this video to his Facebook page this morning:

Yesterday, these kids from Covington Catholic visited the Capitol for The March for Life. What they did next will shock you. #CovCath #MarchForLife

(Sorry...I don't think we have the capability on here to embed videos that have been posted directly to YouTube.)

That's awesome. Always been jealous of the Crazies and what they do for the atmosphere at CovCath.

Can you post a link to the YouTube video? Can't access Facebook at work.

I think 100+ is too low of a #. I thought I read that at least half of CovCath students took the trip this year. That's incredible! My girl is there. NCC students are sightseeing today before heading back this evening.

My high school used to take the whole school to the Presidential Inauguration every four years. I'm not sure if they still do that or not...

I'm not sure what the official number was (I just based it off of seeing about 9 rows of students sitting on the steps in the video). That may or may not have been the whole entourage from Cov Cath, because they split each school into groups of 10 or so students walking around with a chaperon, and they often times end up in different places throughout the day.

For what it's worth, though, the campus ministry team at Cov Cath is doing some awesome things these days.

I looked for it on YouTube but couldn't find anything. The video looks like it was uploaded directly from a phone to Facebook...so I don't know if there's another video of it anywhere right now.

Ahh, gotcha. I'll just get on my phone then.

If memory serves, I think the weekly alumni e-mail said CCH sent 220 to Washington this year.

How about the comment under the picture that thinks the students are protesting the President? Umm, they are riding a roller coaster. Duh.
